Hmm...there is no measurable way of working out what state the world is in, so please do yourself a favour and put that silly idea to bed. Any improvements that bill gates makes is likely to be small, 67 billion dollars is not a huge amount in global terms

i agree with buffet, the flat tax would mean that someone making 17,000 a year is paying the same as someone making 90,000. it will affect the poor more. the rich seem to have ways of manuvering and they can afford accountants and people who can provide finacial information to best suit thier needs. However, someone who is poor just pays what they are told. Unless you are Wesley Snipes and you try to get away with not payiing and you see what he's going through!

Buffet is full of shit, there should be low taxes for everyone. The only way to do that is to cut spending. And if you want to tax then it should be in the form of consumption taxes NOT income taxes. Increasing income taxes hurts savings and investment but if we increase consumption tax on goods that rich waste their money on such as speedboats, electronics, cars or even mansions. This service sector economy needs more investment and less consumption.
