  • Looks fun, but crowded!

  • what is a good and not expensive amplifier for pyle pro speakers?

  • Lol Chris@!!,

  • What is the name of the first song you play after you tell us what equipment you have?

  • oh that was an awesome night!! thanks for being an AMAZING dj!!!

  • My pleasure! Thanks for swinging by the youtube channel! :)

  • Hey, im no pro, but i love the dj scene. Im already doing basic lights and sound, but can somone tell me, if youre running music of ur mac, what are you doing with the mixer?? Also some lightjockey tutorials would be nice...

  • Yeah music is pulled from the mac. I'm manipulating the controls on the mixer as I fad song in and fade songs out. I'll cut bass and add bass where needed. And I have anoher tutorial video on light jockey so be sure to check it out.

  • google serato scratch live

    official website

    scratchlive(dot)net/about/scratchlive/

It's pretty much the dj industry standard. There are other systems out there, but serato is pretty much #1.

  • that dance was awsome

  • gREAT SHOW Ilove the whole thing great job!!!! Thanks for the tip with the tripods they work great!!! AA+++++ dJ Mikey Mike

  • nice

  • Great Vid & Setup. A Big Crowd that makes even better...

    Dj El Xclusivo

  • fantastic set up , great set ..kids loved it

    keep it up.

  • nice work as always...whoomp there it is! loved the powerspots, great clarity. of course loved the colorstrips too, i have 4 of them now :)

  • Dude you just keep buying new toys :)

  • P.S. do your color strips flicker at all when operating them in RGB DMX mode? Mine seem to mildy flicker occasionally and it's starting to annoy me.

  • hey stevie im a dj from baltimore. i do high school dances as well. i was wondering how you mix up the music. being a fan of actual club music and electro also, i like to play remixes and mashups of popular tunes, but always feel like the flow is lost when going from a ~130 bpm electro/house track to a 90-110 bpm hip hop track.

  • Hey Solar! What generally works for me is i'll build my way up from slow songs. Right after a slow jam I'll start out in the 70 BPM range then build from there to 80 then to 90 115..120..130..140.. Whenever your mixing it's nice to plot out in your head where you are going to go. Often times I'll be thinking 3 songs ahead and how am I going to create a build to that peak. Another way to slow it back down is when your in the 140 BPM range mix in a track with 70 and you can still line it up. :)

  • awesome ill give it a shot :] one more thing... how do you handle requests in conjunction with that method?

  • Another great gig. Your set-up rocks!

    One,

    DJ Maverick

  • Nice job. Looked like a rocking party...StevieD style.

  • looks great like always!

  • nice work jason! hope it all works out well! nice work as usual steve too!

  • Wow you got away with that Big & Rich track? I would never have thought that would go over well. Also I really think you should get some upright trusses to hold you lights and uplight them with some cans because your setup is missing something on the side.

  • We played "Save a Horse" last night and it went over perfectly.

Last night we used Applied Truss Crank Towers. Those take at least two people to put up. Since Stevie D is usually a solo DJ, it would be really hard to set up a truss system like that. It does look good when you can do it though.

  • just reminded me I have a killer Save a Horse mashup with lil jon ahhh I shoulda pulled that out last night. Crap :)

  • Haha yeah I've been pulling that one out for awhile now. I've found that you could honestly play anything for a slow song. As long as its slow tempo they're good. Yeah I agree on the side upright trusses. I priced it all out a few months ago, but decided to opt out. Spending the money isn't really worth it to me. I'd just be create more things for me to move around for each show :)

  • awesome gig man! i have an issue though lol... im a serato dj too, but i use vinyl. do you think systems like this would make the needle skip too much? i dunno how hard the bass was hitting, but would it be enough to make a needle jump?

  • For this particular show using the tables would have not been a good idea. I was setup on a stage the kids were dancing on a section infront of me which was shaking the booth at times. Personally I love the turntables, but I opt into taking otu digital decks for my mobile shows. One less thing to worry about.

  • any tips on reducing shaking in the booth?

  • I would just recommend seting up a facade so the kids keep their distance and try to set your subs away from the deck and you should be good.

  • Pretty f***in sweet!

    Keep it up!

  • awesome gig bro good job on mixing too

  • Man you rock and have an awesome setup but it seems all the parties you do are fire hazards which in my opinion is a good thing because that means the parties are off the chain no one wants miss out lol Great Video Too keep up the great work and let me know if your ever in NY alight I'll ttyl

    Peace!

  • Yeah fire hazard for sure. The gym capacity is 2500 and they had around 2300 lol. I don't know how they could have fit 200 more people in there? There did have a fire marshal on site though so maybe that's how they got away with it?

  • cool cool but listen I'm not sure if you saw my other comment so I'm gonna ask again where do you get you voices that say you are now listening to dj Steviedee etc if you make how do you do it because I tried to make some and they suck any tips software, effects, any help is much appreciated I'll ttyl

    Peace!

  • Your shows are always top notch! Way to go. Chicago dances always seem really packed!

  • Thank you sir :)

  • rockin gig man!

  • That was one bad ass gig there man good job!!!!

  • Looks like it was fun.

I'l be uploading a video of last night soon.

  • Yeah I just got off the phone with Anthony. He said you guys had a good night last night too!

  • I just posted a video response of saturday's gig. It was a great night.
