Thanks! You could just go for the UX1. However, if its just guitar you want to use the interface for then you could go for the GX. They all come with the same software so they all produce the same tone and have the same recording capability. Its just the inputs and outputs that are different with each item. Regards
you sir are a good guitarrist! very down to earth solo, instead of being some shred over the blues track. i want to ask you a question, cuz you know, i'm interested in buying an interphase, and i cant decide if i go for the ux1 or the ux2, could you please tell me if the ux2 has anything better? but keep in mind that i dont neither need phantom power. thanks.
You named your tone appropriately: 'Sweet Strat Tone' :-)
I like your style sir, nice phrasing, sweet tone, and a nice build-up of intensitiy. Truly inspiring. Any tips on how to approach learning this style? I can find the pentatonic scale in all keys all over the neck without much effort by now but that doesn't equal making music ofcourse. How did you go ahead? Listening to and copying/transcribing other players? Some instructional dvd's to assist? Some books to study?
hey i got this unit. on the pod farm software they give u on one of the effect i really like is call ( double synth) i was wondering do they make this effect sound for any line6 pedal? i like the sound effect but when i go jam with my friend i cannot take that software with me.
Well I used Ableton Live recording software to record the solo. The backing track was imported into Ableton as an audio file. Then the guitar is recorded over the top of that in Ableton. Of course, you can use the UX2 with any compatible DAW.
As for Auxiliary (AUX) inputs, I'm not quite sure what you mean.. what would you want to plug into an AUX input?
The inputs on the UX2 are:- Line inputs, Stereo Monitor In, Mic inputs (with phantom power) and two instrument inputs
That's some fantastic playing! I'm debating between the UX2 and the Motu Microbook at the moment. I'm looking for something portable that I can just primarily jam with using computer speakers/headphones. Do you have to be recording to get sound from the UX2 or can you simply just play and monitor your sound without recording it? All I really want to be able to do is just plug my guitar in, throw on some effects and play away. Great video!
This could just be a classic case of the old ”Tone comes from the fingers debate”, or that my pickups need adjusting or something? Or I am just a talentless guitarist. But I am finding the output pretty distorted in comparison to yours. Your signal sounds so much richer and smoother.
@StringStudent Hey thanks for the comments! I hope line 6 are listening!
your right, tone comes from the fingers in a lot of cases but you should be able to get a pretty good sound there, your guitar is nice!
My pups are texas specials, which can sound spikey sometimes, so i role the tone down very slightly. I like the neck and mid postion and volume is up full, but if your experiencing any distortion, try roling the volume down, even having the vol on 8/9 can have an amazing effect! - Regards
Thanks very much for sharing this with us. I’m sure Line 6 have probably experience increased sales since you put this post out. They should be paying you commission ;-)I have been playing for about three years and am mainly into the electric Blues genre. Needless to say I own a Line 6 UX2 and have copied your settings. My other gear is a MIA 57 RI Stratocaster (standard specification), and a pair of M AUDIO AV 40 studio monitors.
Hi! First of all..Great palying...pro playing...I am between cakewalk v studio 20 and line 6 pod ux2...can you help me clear my thoughts? Whitch one do you think it is better? Thank you.
@SteveFEn7DER ok, the roland looks good to me, but i haven't used one so i can't really comment.. the UX2 gives most of what i need.. & now that line 6 have improved podfarm, it should be even better than the version ive got.. though call! for me, it all comes down to price.. think carefully about what you actually want.. if its just for recording guitar, maybe some vocals & bass get the UX1, it's under half the price! then you can use the left over money to buy some drum software for backing..
Thanks for getting back to me. I will take your advice and hope my recordings come out as good as yours......now about my playing, that may need some work! God bless. Mark
Great tone and playing!! What kind of speakers did you use for output ? Do they color the sound any? I read somewhere that berringer makes a nice set that does a good job of not adding any speaker coloring to the sound. They act as drivers? They are reasonably priced too.
@97teledlx well to be honest i just use the PC and UX2 for practice and basic PC speakers are good enough for that.. (I use creative T10 watt non-subwoofer speakers) If i do want to monitor the sound, i use some good sony head phones, they're pretty accurate.. some nice monitors will no doubt offer a better sound, my mate uses alesis monitors with his line 6 set-up, they sound pretty decent too but im sure the berhinger montiors would be decent..
sorry for the late reply, the tone is purely from the UX2 & POD farm software.. Once you set the tone in POD farm you need to set the UX2 as the audio source in your recording software.. i use ableton so i had to open POD farm, create a tone, open ableton, create an audio track, go to OPTIONS > PREFRENCES > AUDIO (option on left of box) > change your driver type to ASIO and your audio device to ASIO UX2 it should work then. i use the tutorials in Ableton to help.. its prety simple though..
its a mexican strat with fender texas special single coils plugged straight into the UX2.. nothing else, all the lead guitar sounds come from the PODfarm software you can see in the video, everything else (drums, bass & rythym guitar) come from a backing track.. i then recorded a solo over the top using the ableton software that comes in the pack with the UX2 studio.. hope this helps.. OPILUS
I'm starting to buy a Fender Mexico Classic 'Player '50s with 57/62 pickup similar to yours.
So I think my sound wuold be similar to yours, but only the sound not my execution cause I'm 50 years odl and I don't play for a long time and I had an accident at my left hand so now I have some difficult to play, but I want to try like when I was young .
TOO YOUNG TO DIE AND NOT TOO OLD FOR ROCK'N'ROLL !!!

@DG320 To be honest I really can't fit an answer into 450 characters! Maybe I'll do a video lesson on some soloing ideas. Watch this space!

Can I please ask what your guitar settings are?
Tone ?

Switch position
