The term Indian actually came from Columbus when he sailed across the Atlantic heading for India. He mistakenly called the Native People of North America after the people of India. Even Crayola Crayons former Colour Indian Red was actually named after the Red Colour in the Nation of India in South Asia.

In Canadian English, as with Australian English, "Asian" most often refers to people of eastern or southeastern Asian descent. It can be expanded, however, such as when referring to colonial times, to include south Asian countries such as India and Sri Lanka, as is common usage by South Asians themselves. In modern Canadian usage, according to the Canadian Oxford Dictionary, the term "Oriental" is considered offensive when applied to a person of East Asian ancestry

The name of the song is " Kan Ding Qin Geh" (The Love Song in Kan Ding). It is a Chinese traditional folk song. The rhythm and lyrics are quite beautiful.
