There is a version without the backing vocals on the complete studio recordings plus more...unfortunately it is quite hissy but guess it can be cleaned up a bit :))
the only versions you would find minus the backing vocals would be the original unmastered clovis recordings, as these were dubbed in at the Nor Va Jak studio, before being sent out as masters to Peer Southern music for release on Coral/Brunswick Records
@john9944 They didn't write this song. John Marascalco & Lloyd Price did. They wrote a ton of other songs like, "Good Golly Miss Molly", and "Rip it Up". Still its Buddy Holly right?

wow he took alot of little richards stuff! he must of loved him so much he wanted 2 be him hehe i'm being sarcastic of course there's only one Little Richard no one can or will be able 2 imitate him even if they tried!!! Richard gave his all in his music and I feel that was ashame he didn't get Credits 4 his song's!
yea i know i hate the back up vocals in all these songs but nothing i can do about it but im sure there are versions out there with out the back up vocals unfortunatly i dont have one sorry
@buddyfan57 i think i heard they overdubbed backing vocals on alot of his songs in the 60's after he died, so you probably can get the original version without them
This song blew me away, when i first heard it back in 1994. The best cover, beating out little Richard's and even Sam Cook! Have never heard it on the radio.
Yeah it wouldve been awesome. I thought this is an over-dub 4 sure. Thanks,:) Its too bad this world has been so familiarized with these instead of his original songs. If Im not mistaken I think
theres a CD out now that has his original cuts. I 4get the name of it. I like this but ....im gettin that CD.

"The Picks", heard doing the backup vocal harmonies with Buddy Holly on "Send Me Some Lovin'" on this web site were inducted into the 2007 New Mexico Music Hall of Fame and Museum on November 10, 2007 at Albuquerque, NM for the work they did for Buddy Holly and The Crickets. "The Picks" are John Pickering, Bob Lapham and the late Bill Pickering. "The Picks" sang on 9 of the 12 songs on "The Chirping Crickets" Brunswick album in 1957 - the only group-sound album released while Buddy was alive
i've heard all the versions on youtube and this is the best

the only thing i can really comment on is that the undubbed version would be much better.
