  • i've heard all the versions on youtube and this is the best

  • After little Richard, the best cover, even beating Cookes version.

  • Buddy sings it the best

  • There is a version without the backing vocals on the complete studio recordings plus more...unfortunately it is quite hissy but guess it can be cleaned up a bit :))

  • Little Richard's version was pretty cool too but there is just something about Buddy and the Crickets.

  • What about the version from Elvis, worth listening to !

  • CHECK IT OUT!! SEAN GALE playing SEND ME SOME LOVIN'!!

  • don't send me a x-mas card;send me your love!!!

  • the only versions you would find minus the backing vocals would be the original unmastered clovis recordings, as these were dubbed in at the Nor Va Jak studio, before being sent out as masters to Peer Southern music for release on Coral/Brunswick Records

  • WOW !! Great tune, thank's for sharing.

  • a stunning song, one of buddy's best. every element of it is wonderful.

  • is it just me,or is he saying "my days are so lonely,my nuts are so blue"??

  • @TheGibitzMachine he is saying "My nights are so blue"... don't forget, he had a west Texas accent

  • @TheGibitzMachine that's because you can't articulate your position,so you rely on trash talk.enough said.

  • @MrSteele65 what position,you silly person you?

  • @MrSteele65 you uneducated moron,it's obvious.

  • OMG that voice! I just recently really got into Buddy :), need more now. Haha

  • still like the Little Richard original though this is not bad take out the background

  • Ahhhh....yess!

  • We're not worthy.

  • This is spectacular......even in 2010

  • There is only one. He is undisputed King of the early singer-songwriters.

  • @john9944 They didn't write this song. John Marascalco & Lloyd Price did. They wrote a ton of other songs like, "Good Golly Miss Molly", and "Rip it Up". Still its Buddy Holly right?

  • wow

  • Buddy kicks butt.....

  • TO ME HE IS THE KING OF ROCK

  • and to me too

  • buddy ranks supreme

  • WOW Buddy sure did a lot of stuff in his way to short of time here, absolutely amazing and I do love this song, Just WOW!!!

  • I know people don't like the background, but this is SO 50's this way. Guess you had to be there.

  • is that realy buddy holly /

  • yes it is, the one and only!

  • Buddy, 50 years a go you are living in the sky. Receive our best regards good boy!!

Thanks for all what you did for us, that loves good music

    Mendes/Brasil

  • buddy does a wonderful job, so beautiful.

  • This is a good version, but the original by Little Richard has more balls!

  • BEAUTIFUL !

  • this is my perfect record, for loving someone as well as for the broken heart times. Buddy rules x

  • i still love it even with those annoying guys LOL

  • wow the background vocalists ruined this song.. can u take them out?

  • yea i know i hate the back up vocals in all these songs but nothing i can do about it but im sure there are versions out there with out the back up vocals unfortunatly i dont have one sorry

  • thanks for your reply .the sound is great thanks tony australia

  • @buddyfan57 i think i heard they overdubbed backing vocals on alot of his songs in the 60's after he died, so you probably can get the original version without them

  • the only thing i can really comment on is that the undubbed version would be much better.

then you can hear just the raw talent of buddy.

    great song

  • Little Richard's version is much better.

I still love you though Buddy.

  • This song blew me away, when i first heard it back in 1994. The best cover, beating out little Richard's and even Sam Cook! Have never heard it on the radio.

  • Wow - great song.

  • is this an original or a Picks over-dub? I like it tho. thanx.

  • the overdub. the undubbed would have been better i think.

  • Yeah it wouldve been awesome. I thought this is an over-dub 4 sure. Thanks,:) Its too bad this world has been so familiarized with these instead of his original songs. If Im not mistaken I think

theres a CD out now that has his original cuts. I 4get the name of it. I like this but ....im gettin that CD.

  • i have some of the undubbed just guitar stuff if your interested, would love to help :)

your right there is a cd but ive never came across it, let me know if u do/.

  • Cool. yea thanks.

And if I come across that CD Ill certainly let u know.

Ive heard a BIT of his undubbed stuff. Like the original bits but I havent heard much else like that. Ill check amazon to see of they have it. :)

  • "The Picks", heard doing the backup vocal harmonies with Buddy Holly on "Send Me Some Lovin'" on this web site were inducted into the 2007 New Mexico Music Hall of Fame and Museum on November 10, 2007 at Albuquerque, NM for the work they did for Buddy Holly and The Crickets. "The Picks" are John Pickering, Bob Lapham and the late Bill Pickering. "The Picks" sang on 9 of the 12 songs on "The Chirping Crickets" Brunswick album in 1957 - the only group-sound album released while Buddy was alive

  • Great video... loved seeing Buddy's wife and family. Are these his wedding photos?
