There's only a few track's I never switch off early..this is one of them. If you like this check out the JimmiCooper Channel version of Going Underground on Youtube....remixed for 2012 for 30th anniversary of The Jam split....it's now listed a top video on Twitter.
Just about my all time favourite song by any artist ! ... great live performance ... so powerful ! ... Wayne ... ( PS ... one person has obviously been living underground ... get with the real world ! )
Either that or head on round the curb, though that comment comes from a head that does tend to swerve at the speed and twists of them lyrics. What a Jam!
this was an amazing thime to live tru, youth culture then was alive - exciting - creative - angry - learning - horny - we had the style & fashions back then
where as todays youth culture is boring - uptight - conservative - & thinks it knows everything
Even though Paul is tied to the microphone, the raw pure honest energetic performance is there every time the Jam played a gig - especially here.
In general, these two frontmen are carrying the band through the whole thing. They are managing what Eagles, T-Rex, etc.. couldn't manage even though being more people in front.
Inspiring and honest -> the way it' supposed to be.
Nice one mate! but did you get right to the front? In my biased opinion, this era 1977-82) is the best in UK music history.Bands like The Clash/The PiStOlS/The Selector/The Specials/Secret Affair/Elvis Costello/Joe Jackson/Adam & The Ants shaped me into the X Factor hating, miserable git i am today!
@sparkytrev1 i was also there i think £3.50 the concert was filmed for itv music show called check it out. i was at both concerts 3rd and 4th of april 1982 im the one at the front light hair and red harrington i also got 2 whitley bay ice rink concerts 28th and 29th sept 82 i paid £4.00. the complete jam dvd has more from the city hall concert. the good old days never forget.
I don't give a care. My favorite band of the 00's is Electric Six. Favourite of the 90s is JUDY AND MARY, 80 might be The Exploited.. 70... Electric Light Orchestra. All fine and dandy.
Still the best 3 piece band ever, not even Weller can better it despite years spent trying. Shame he is too arogant now to reform with Rick and Bruce, do a sell out tour at major venues and give the people what they really want.
