Eh. I'm not entirely convinced that this helps you become a better artist.

I'd buy a real book that teaches you the meat and potatoes of character design.. shape, size, variance.. Teaches you what makes a good character design.

Do a lot of figure drawings and still life drawings. It may not seem like it will help you draw cartoons, but it does.

I wish someone told me to do this stuff at a young age. :o

@balgus82 lol, no, no, no - that's how most great cartoonists start out! :D We learn my example, and tracing is a huge help to getting the feel for how everything is suppose to feel in the begining!

Of course you don't stay at that stage! :D Once you've gotten the feel then you move on- but it sure helps out your perception on how things should fit together proportionally and it's creative! (not just one thing to trace, many different) and would be great for those who want to do comics! ^_^
