  • Excelentes graficas

  • @AdriProx Muchas gracias :-)

  • You done that in Lightwave? I have used Lightwave myself but I always find it is full of constraints, animating an ocean for example when Maya can do it at the touch of a button. Goes to show though even the worst of packages are exceptional in the hands of a master, outstanding stuff will be interesting to see the Dublin version.

  • @ViciousScotsman lol Thanks. Yeah Maya's good, I'm learning it too. Not sure I could call myself a master or that Lightwave is the worst package but thanks for the compliment. :-) I'm working on four shots for Dublin - two are finished, one is nearly there and one still has a long way to go. I'll hopefully be posting at least one of them here with a breakdown once all 4 shots are finished.

  • Wow this is amazing work, keep stuff like this coming.

  • @TheTLTLHeadquarters Thank you. I'm just putting together something similar for a future Dublin cityscape. If all goes well I should be uploading it within a month or so.

  • @planetmirth2001 can't wait to see it. What programs are you using for 3D and compositing? I have been wanting to do 3D for our movies for so long now.

  • @TheTLTLHeadquarters I started out, & still use, Lightwave 3D - because there's a great community & free tutorials are easy to come by. I've begun dabbling with Maya, which is generally accepted as the industry standard. If you want to learn the basics cheaply, then Blender is a free 3D application that's getting a lot of great press. If you don't want to get into modeling then something like Daz Studio would be ideal - it's free, easy to animate & they sell a lot of cheap pre rigged models.

  • awesum compositing..........

  • @bjus1986 Many thanks :-)

  • perfect integration, good work man ;)

  • @roulamin Thank you - I appreciate it. Might be doing something similar with Dublin soon.

  • Dude, don't apologize for great work. show us more.

  • @3089280288 Thanks :-) Hope to find some time to do a bit of experimenting with stereoscopic 3D in the next couple of weeks.

  • Good job incorporating the dystopia models and objects to the gnomon digital sets tutorials. Clever effort.

  • @MyJanetv Thanks :-)

  • wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope it is year 2024

  • @dogalways Thanks :-)

  • 1 Person confused the "dislike" button for the "Dis I Like" button!

  • @stuntidiotz LOL That's what I'll tell myself from now on - thanks :-)

  • @planetmirth2001

Its really good!!=)which software is it?

  • @TheSilent60 Thanks. 3D motion tracking software: PFTrack, 3D animation: Lightwave and compositing: After Effects.

  • type in won before youtube and get a prize

  • Great work man. I love the attention to detail, like the heat distortion and the little digital actor(robot?) walking around. It's the details that sell the shot and you got it down pat! Best youtube landscape matchmove&composite i've seen so far. I think i'll do one too now :)

  • @StudioVoxel Thanks so much for your kind comments. It's comments like that that makes it all worthwhile :-D

  • Really beautiful. Wouldn't even know where to start creating something like that..I may take a shot at putting some music onto this.

  • @RichSProducer Thank you. Music is a really important part of the overall experience and unfortunately not within my skill set. I'd love to hear what you come up with, so if you do create something, please feel free to post it here as a video response.

  • This is awsome, Respect.

The only thing that's missing is sound, else ....... WOW!

  • @LeoOch Thank you. And yes, sound can make a big difference. There was a friend/subscriber who composed some music for it and posted it to their site, but I think he has since closed his Youtube account. If I ever get enough time, I might do a version with sound effects and also show the breakdown of all the composited elements.

  • @planetmirth2001 Oh, Okey :)

Ye, showing the breakdown would be awsome ! :)

  • awesome man. looks almost real. just add sound to make more impactful.

u should also create a complete 3d city. awaiting ur next creation.

  • Cool I am a total Geek over this lol!

  • @RBEconcepts LOL Glad you liked it :-)

  • wow this is amazing ur super talented 5/5 am doing my first comp right now :)

  • @transformersHD2009 Thank you very much. Good luck with your own effects. :-)

  • wow, you're really talented:)

  • @Retrowinter That's very nice of you to say - thank you :-)

  • lol at the Solow Building, Pretty Nice!

  • @Dboi0422 Thanks :)

  • nice, just one tiny critique, the flags are waving in a different direction to the wind turbine's. Sorry i know its such a tiny thing to get worked up about, when you have done so well, but for some reason i spotted it straight away

  • @Cblencke Well spotted :-) That's definitely one I'll need to correct if I revisit it. Thanks for pointing it out.

  • wonderfully done!

  • @jnddepew Thank you - glad you liked it :-)

  • @planetmirth2001 maybe it would be neat to add another airship or two.

  • @jnddepew Good point. The one I have does look a bit lonely now you come to mention it :-)

  • AWESOME, thats amazing

  • @Jazza159 Thank you :-)

  • holy crap... I didn't even notice the dome until it came up close. looks real!

  • @TheFXGuy Thanks - glad you like it :-)

  • Very well done! @(^_^)@

  • @thefourmonkeys Thank you. I really like your channel - and the Princess Leia emoticon.

You'll hopefully enjoy my next upload - it's Star Wars related :-)

  • Actually it's a monkey, but I can see how you might think it's Princess Leia. : )

  • @thefourmonkeys lol Ah, that makes sense too :-)

  • Bravo! Very nice.

  • @ImJmI Thank you :-)

  • JUMPING JEHOSIPHAT! 5 Stars, Magnificent and very detailed.

  • @thetardis63 That's very kind of you to say so - thank you.

  • I just can't believe this... My eyes... I LIKE THIS !!!

  • @GamesMoviesComposer Thank you so much. I'm glad you liked it :-)

  • Great clip with lots of nice detail.

    Some crits;

I think the composited path could do with more yellow to help it fit in with the original footage better.

The flags are a bit stretchy.

As the ship comes in to land there is a slight mechanical jump in the keyframe animation.

Hope that is useful to you. Looking forward to seeing more.

  • @am3nabl3 That's brilliant. Thank you for taking the time to critique. I'll hopefully be uploading my latest compositing test in a few weeks - it features Star Wars and Daleks ;-)

It's a lot simpler than this one, but also hopefully more successful.

  • This is absolutely amazing, I wish I had such talent and patience to put together something like this. Well done!

  • @sdrowe Thank you. Much appreciated :-)

  • Noice!

What did you do this in? Looks amazing, and I love the monorail. Can't have a future city without a monorail :P

  • @ViciousScotsman Cheers. The 3D animation/layout was done in Lightwave 3D and the compositing was done in After Effects.

  • the level of detail is fantastic, I also love the advertising on the building.

  • @leokimvideo Thank you. The fact that people notice all the little details makes me very happy :-)

  • @planetmirth2001

There was a time not so long back when big detail on the CGI realm cost big dollars.

These days its all turned around, but the devil is in the detail!

  • haha! thats awesome! thanks for the friend request! 5 stars :D

  • @derangedband Thanks for accepting, commenting and rating - much appreciated :-)

  • Yea? really nice lighting I like it a lot. Yea get your hands on Nuke and you would have tons of control. Not sure if you know but mess with EXR passes to not only cut render time but get more passes to composite with and much higher values to play with. I say you go back in this piece and really polish it. Its an impressive piece for your reel. Good stuff mate. Im a big fan of architecture renderings.

  • @jezt101 Thanks. At the time I did this, my version of Lightwave didn't support EXR - but it definitely looks the superior workflow. Once I finish my current batch of Dalek related vfx shots, I'll definitely try to revisit. Thanks again.

  • Hey man this is some good stuff. A few crit would be that your ship def needs some work in terms of reflections and getting it to fit more with the environment. The water matte was a tad floaty in some frames. I encourage to look into NUKE for Compositing. The reflections on the water were a bit too sharp I think. Wish I could see a higher quality than youtubes. Lighting is really nicely done. Did you do HDRI or manual lighting?

  • @jezt101 Many thanks for the critique. I'm actually looking through some NUKE tutorials as I type. :-) Regarding the lighting - it was a bit of a combination - one manual light for the sun with a faked photoshop image serving as a Texture Environment to contribute to the lighting and reflections.

  • I can't believe that I still haven't commented on how awesome is this video.

  • @Serdaroth Thank you for doing it now - much appreciated :-)

  • Fantastic

  • @mttplrd Thank you. Glad you liked it.

  • That's funking brilliant!

  • @SciFiAssasin Cheers. Glad you liked it, like you, I'm a self-confessed sci-fi geek ;-)

  • You work is amazing! I would love to do these kind of effects, but just doing superimposes on After Effect is enough to make me question my sanity!

Great job! My hat is off to your talent, devotion, and patience's! Take care!! :-)

  • @GallifreyanLovers Thank you so much for your very kind words.

Really like your "A Gallifreyan Love Story" - you obviously have a lot of patience yourself :-)

  • superb animation

    looks amazing

  • @tardiselliot Thank you. It makes it all worthwhile to know that so many people find it enjoyable to watch.

  • @planetmirth2001

its amazing, i wish i could do that, but i lack both the tools & patience

  • outstanding!! The jet heat effects are fantastic.

  • @daliman11 Many thanks. I love putting in little details like that, and thankfully that one was fairly easy to achieve.

  • This is awesome. I totally aspire to be able to do this kind of work. In the meantime if you ever want to participate in unpaid, but fun independent film work let me know.

  • Funny you should mention that - I'm trying to put together an online production company where talented individuals work together to complete projects. Although everyone would need to be unpaid during production, if the projects make money then everyone who worked on it gets a share of the profits. PM me if you're interested.

  • WOW, this is so good. I know can't even do this kind of stuff, but please let me say that "The ship at the beginning was kind of out of the back ground: such as lighting, color". But over all it's so awesome, Just love it, Keep it up.

  • Thanks nipanstudio. All constructive criticism is welcome. Glad you liked it.

  • Super Lightwave stuff, it would be great to see it in HD.. keep up the good work.

  • Thanks Scott - and you. I really like your Zombie Kings Cloning Machine. I originally tried to upload the HD version, but it kept crashing ;-) Maybe one of these days I'll try again.

  • Try using Firefox with one of their addons, it works well for downloading videos from Youtube..

  • Awesome work. The more I watch it, the more details I see. Only just noticed the elevators go up and down. Love the way the guns follow the ship too. Brilliant attention to detail. 5 stars!!

  • Thank you - the fact that people can see and appreciate the details makes it all worth while :-)

  • Wow dude really nice video! I just started 3D's Max recently, but I'm wondering, what program did you use to create this?

  • Thanks moviemaker933, I used Lightwave for this, but I'm not one of those people who says "x" programme is bad and "y" programme is good. It's more down to the operator. I've seen some wonderful things created in 3D Max. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

  • The train pulling away - that's a nice touch. As is your little billboard.

Maybe you can add more shadow to the train as it goes between the buildings.

You should just turn this into an ad like you did with the Earth Zoom Out.

Everything is good on Planet Mirth.

  • Thanks again ShogaNinja. Yes that's my billboard ad. I try to get some planetmirth branding into all the sequences - on this piece it's also on the flags and on the flying ship.

On the Earth Zoom Out, I also branded the Boeing and the Space Shuttle, but I'm not sure how many people spot it ;-)

  • this is really great very reaistic,

how did you track the footage?

  • Thanks cocobirdcoco. I used PFTrack for this one.

  • Dude I live in Kildare, Only been doing vidual fx for like 3 or 4 months. Your stuff is really inspiring. Did you do any courses or do you just do tutorials like videocopilot and AEtuts etc?? Please respond via personal message

  • Thanks Antobrez, you've already got some nice work yourself. No courses. Mainly free online tutorials, though the Photoshop skills I picked up as a Graphic Designer have helped a lot. I'll also reply via PM.

  • Great stuff man, whereabouts do you reside?

  • Thanks Jugador12, I'm born and bred in Northern Ireland :-)

  • aw amazing! I was just checking to see if you were anywhere near me (California); your videos are very impressive and maybe we could work together some day

  • Yes indeed, with the joy of technology it doesn't matter where on the planet you're from. There's some great fan films I've seen that have been made by people from all over the world.

    Thanks again.

  • Absolutely astounding work!!!

  • Thank you. Glad you liked it.

  • Nice, Your attention to detail is impressive. Your subtle details like the tiny robots and the waving flags are what make this look so alive. What did you do the motion tracking with? Boujou? The track slips where the bridge goes over the trees. Not so much a slip as a need to rotoscope some trees to cover the bridge. Other than that it's damn near perfect. Reflections, lighting. The works. . . In what time frame did you complete this? and could you provide a rough estimate of render time?

  • Thanks JediTridae.

I used PFTrack for this one.

Yes, there are a few things that I'd do better the second time around and one is the bridge. It's actually far too low in the y-axis in relation to all the other buildings which caused me to have a couple of slipping issues. I tried to hide them - but obviously not successfully ;-)

The planning, texturing, lighting and animation took me a long month to do. The final HD render passes and compositing took 3-4 weeks.

    Thanks also for subscribing.

  • Unbelievable - this is better than a lot of so called professional effects.

  • Thanks rojerramjet25, that's nice of you to say so. Hopefully a Producer from Dr.Who will see it, agree with you and offer me a job ;-)

  • Stranger thing have happened.

  • I live in hope. :-)

I'd definitely work around the clock for weeks and little pay to get to do the next Dr. Who regeneration effect.

I've got some ideas on how to make it awesome - but unfortunately will probably never get the opportunity to try them out for real.

  • wow that's just AWESOME!!

looks like it took a lot of time to create it...you're probably a perfectionist

  • Thanks VFXTests.

It took about a month from start to finish, not counting the time it took to render all the passes - which was almost as long as I did it in HD.

I definitely think I'm a perfectionist - just not sure if I'm the healthy or pathological kind ;-)

  • yeah i see the robots ! this really looks awesome ! Was the heat-blur of the ship flying by made in lightwave or in after effects ?

  • Good eyes GmuesFilm. And thanks again.

The heat-blur effect was done in both Lightwave & After Effects. I had particle emitters on the thrusters emitting a smokey/steam trail in Lightwave.

I rendered it out as white smoke on a black background & used this footage as a displacement on the background plate in After Effects.

I also rendered out a slightly different version of the steam and comp'd it over the now displaced background plate.

    Hope that makes sense.

  • I used exactly the same technique to try an fake a bit of refraction in the canopy of the ship. i.e. rendered out the white canopy on a black background and used that to displace the background in After Effects.

  • magnificent ! will you upload it in HD ? this is really pro stuff !

  • vielen Dank GmuesFilm.

Unfortunately my internet connection's not up to uploading an HD version at the moment - which is a shame because there's a lot of detail that's not that obvious on the half HD resolution version I did eventually get uploaded. e.g. Don't know if anyone can see the 8 or 9 walking robots (around the building with the flags)?

Having said that, even on the HD version, I can't see the traffic I put on the bridge. Still, at least I know they're there ;o)

  • um.... THIS IS AMAZING!

  • Thanks iEditor - perhaps we should come up with a storyline that can combine this and your wonderful "Battlestar Galactic comes to New York" ;o)

  • Totally! I'll need to quit my day job of course - but yes! haha!

  • All we need to do is find someone who'll pay us, and we're sorted!! ;o)

  • That's a very good idea. I don't have a lot of time at the moment, but if things ease up I'll put one together.

In the meantime if you check out Artbeats clips/8897/12830 it'll show the background plate.

  • Wow Troll2020 - that was quick. You viewed it before I did :o)

Glad you liked it and thanks for dropping by again.
