Jacque Fresco himself says most scientists don´t really work on the problems of society they just work for some company. So science has the potential to solve absolutely anything, it has to be used that say, not to make irrelevant things for money.

Concerning how theories change, you have to understand that the merit does not belong to those that find new things only, it belongs to all of the persons before that as well. @tougerw TVP views religion as the organization of belief. Belief is individual. Organizing belief makes it static. The main thing is that religion gives answers and discourages investigation. If you allow yourself to say "I don't know", then you can be open to ideas instead of becoming upset when something contradicts your opinion. TVP emphasizes the use of the scientific method (actively and tangibly trying to find things out) instead of subscribing to any system of opinions.
