Holy shit, the Goos are GOOD. I love this song and I think this performance is the best ever. They were so on their game. The finale is outstanding, inspiring, amazing with Johnny windmilling away right at the end.
John's voice, especially when he holds the "fallin'" in the chorus is enough to make you weep.
Johnny must be a visionary, cause this song's lyrics are (unfortunately) still current today. Heartbreaking.
I've been following the Goos since '92 or whenever Super Star Car Wash came out, and I prefer their pre-Let Love In sound and attitude.....but I guess even the rebels have to grow up sometime.
Wait for their new album. Let Love In was a little over-produced, and they're working on something a bit edgier now. Then again, at the time, they said Superstar Car Wash was a bit overproduced, too, and A Boy Named Goo was their answer to that. And they said Dizzy Up the Girl was overproduced, and Gutterflower was their answer to that...
Either way, keep a look out for the new album. I'm holding my breath for it!
ahhhhhhhhhhh! i wish they still did this rock style rather than the new stuff they are putting out now ( not saying the new is bad) but still i love this! its not every concert u get to hear oldies like this, usually they play the new stuff. But still an amazing performance and an AWSOME song!
Well, a 'flat top' is the term given to the boxlike haircut given to the american military. (for those who don't know) And this song is about the government, media, whatever else. So the haircut ties in with it.
What does he say at 4:04- 4:08?

This song fuckin' rocks. Sometimes I think the GGD wiped all these awesome olds songs from their memories, but this gives me hope.
