@griffo77 what do i need to start flying a chopper like this? should i take a degree in aviation? or is there a chopper training program? how long does the study take?
@seaboo143 come do your training in the US, it's cheap by comparison, and schools will help you get a student visa. depending on your skills, to go from private, commercial, instrument, and instructor will cost you about $60 000.
or, you could try the military in your country for training.
it's never too late to start: average age of people starting flight training is in the low 30's...
How mcuh is the head cam? I have always wanted to video my flights like that i was thinkin about gettin a software called flyvie and doing it from my iphone but i like the head cam better and nice video!! I love the new R66 turbines
@amj54321 that's what it looks like. that's how you start a Bell 407, too, and a lot of other bigger helicopters too, for that matter. In the 407, you start the starting sequence by pushing the button once, then just modulate the fuel with the grip in the collective.
Nice footage of the Palos Verdes CA coast after taking off from the Torrance Airport. FYI, the Long Beach, LGB airport is about 10 miles away to the south.

@seaboo143
it takes 9-18 months, but you will most likely never fly like this.

so am i to understand you don't have to hold the R66's starter down until N1 reaches its self sustaining point? just one press and release?

R66 for Robinson is a big step.
OK, they always have big steps.

Do you still split the needles and do a low rrpm warning check or is it not required with the turbine?

Is there a key to turn? or is it a button?

@SlittyDrake Its a turbine so a starter button
happyhouse152 1 year ago
@happyhouse152 but knowing robinson, there'll no doubt be a key for security reasons to turn on the power probably
