@JujuiLuv Yeah, this sky is my own. When I'm out shooting or walking around if I see a nice sky I shoot it for later use. This was shot with a 5D Mark II and 16-35 f/2.8 lens. Any camera with a wide angle lens can capture a nice big sky.
This is fantastic .. Thank you so much .. now off to look if you have any other great Photoshop tutorials.. your voice is brilliant and the way you explain it is perfect.. Thank you again
that is amazing i want to try this im downloading cs7 and im a beginner and i want to impress my followers on tumblr ill have to watch your videos a million times to under stand but this is really cool double likes from me
hey, excellent video, but it doesnt work for me, lol. i try and use the Gradient tool, but nothing happens.
umm. i have CS5.1 trail version which shouldn't make a difference. only difference i see when i do it, is when i drag my sky photo to my background, it shows as a big X and i can adjust the size, also you get a window Color Space? i dont get that either, not sure if thats it? ive tried about 12 times and followed step by step, i feel like a tool, haha.
This is a great video. But if this is photoshop for beginners, I don't think I want to see an advanced photoshop lesson. Photoshop is a complex program.
@PopsDaRocker thanks, I'm glad you found it usefull. I used to do a lot of Real Estate Photography and every image HAD to have a blue sky, even if you could see rain in the foreground :) I used this technique a lot.
@PopsDaRocker so when you tell us to make the mask box black i am unable to do so. it is white with a hollow dot in the middle. i think this is my issue as i get stuck when trying to blend the two images
@envisageskylines Yeah I suppose you're right. I should brush up on my selection skills. I have old habits that still work but there is no doubt a lot better way to do this now.
I'm new to photoshop and photography so still lots to learn. This is the best step by step video I've come across for sky replacements using CS5. I have tons of photos that I've been wanting to do this on. Great Job and thanks =)
you should do some videos on how to just edit the skies in general . it always great to see different styles

This is easily followed, but how do you do it if you don't already have pictures of the sky as you do?
