  • Great info and excellent shooting. I have the Rem. .221 Fireball. Do you know if they still make any kits for them. to change the stock and barrel? I would like to change it out to the 6 or 7mm ctg. Thanks for the video.

  • @knightingalesaid There aren't any "kits" but there are custom or aftermarket parts such as stocks, barrels, triggers, sights -- all available to customize the Remington XP 100. You might want to check IHMSA.org and their forum to ask members about technical points. Thanks for viewing and your comments!

  • Never seen this before, The event, position, and type of guns I never knew about anything like this.

  • Rampro was a semi-custom gun with options for rigth/left bolt and right/left port. Mine is left bolt and left port, preferred by Creedmore position shooters.

  • The Rampro looks like a left bolt right port.

  • I have never seen anything like this. This is pretty cool and nice shooting.

  • This is a really weird shooting sport.

  • @lavid2006 You shoot that way if you are hunting and there are no trees or other ways to rest your gun on. It's called the "Creedmore" and you'd do that if in a field. I have hit targets at 500 meters with this type of stance and gun setup.

  • this is the first time i saw someone use a bike on a shooting range (pretty clever)

    nice weapons too

  • gunzorro, what would you recomend for a stock style revolver for shooting targets.? I'd like to shoot silh. style at 80 to 100 yards, nothing hotter than a big magnum. I had a 7.5" .44 single action and want another, what do you think?

  • Adjustable sights are a must -- good ones. That's why Freedom Arms rules the revolver category -- besides their amazing accuracy. I love my .357, far more than .44. Some shooters are now using the .41 mag since FA came out with it. But .357 is my favorite.

  • huh, wierd way to shoot..

  • Did the fireball prototypes originally fire .222 ammo in 1963?

  • No, Remington used a custom shortened version called the .221 Fireball. Until the 7BR chambering in the late 70s, I believe the .221 was the only caliber available from the factory. Later, Reminton offered the 6BR, .260, 7-08 and .308, among others. Of course many shooters customized with different chamberings.

  • What sights are those. I have a factory stock XP100 and need some nice iron sights. What would you recommend?

  • Put a bond front sight and bomar rear

  • Most interesting position I've ever scene shot from

  • That looks like it would be fun to do however probably expencive to get into... how much did those run you guys when you bought them???

  • We started with inexpensive guns, like Thompson Center Contender for around $400, or unmodified Remington XP100s, which can be had for around $600 to start.

Custom guns can run up to about $2000. But keep in mind, like any sport, the longer you are involved, and the better skills you develop, the higher your investment in quality or custom equipment.

It's not that expensive to get started, but after 20 years, you might have spent quite a bit! ;)

    Rome wasn't built in a day! :)

  • This seems really challenging.

  • Yeah why not use prone. Or staggered Prone. Much more comfortable.

  • Great video, that looks like a blast! The club I just joined does rimfire pistol silhoutte, I think I'm gonna get into it.

Ignore the idiots who are ripping on your shooting position. I just read Elmer Keith's autobiography, and he talks about making a clean one shot kill on an antelope with a .44 mag at 550 yards, using that exact same position.

    Thanks for the video!

  • Great video. I have never watched silhouette shooting before.

  • ah yes,these pistols are awesome...I shoot a 308 X 1.5 custom Remington.

  • decent , I shoot summer sihlouette with a Anschutz 64 MPR but we shoot the 25 50 75 100 with I think 1/2 scale

  • Would that be pellet size critters? If yes......would like to see a video of them getting center punch!

Sounds like a bunch of fun!

  • I have known a few people to use this position in hunting with these types of guns. Do you have a suggestion for a more stable position for accuracy and comfort that keeps the gun from touching the ground or any foreign objects? We've tried quite a few positions over the years, but would be happy to consider what you come up with, if it is legal under the rules.

  • lol, define" real life situation", it's not like you'd use a bolt action pistol for self defense or even to attack someone offensively. It's for target shooting and hunting, you can sit however you want.

  • great shooting!

  • The "blast shield" is quite legal within the rules of both IHMSA and NRA. Admittedly, it does have less protective value from muzzle blast with most longer barrels, but it is still valuable with shorter barrels in 10" Production category. Unlimited guns such as these with muzzle brakes it is needed.

The leather actually assists very little as a friction device -- not really more than jeans. A bare leg in hot weather has far more adhesion for slippery finishes on most custom Unlimited stocks.

  • Thanks folks! :)

  • nice shooting =)

  • hahahaha.. i really dont understand taht shooting position.
