.is the most beautiful voice I've heard and listen to in my life, I grew up and fell in love listening to his voice and beautiful melodies of his songs .... even now I listen and remember the good and happy moments that I experienced in those years! . thanks!
This is the song many should always be reminded of... there were so many forgotten moments and precious people that we owe them much... Thanks to you Karen.
Amen... Whoever posted this Thank you so much. The Carpenters were in a class of their own. If I could live to be 1000 I do not believe I would ever hear music so beautiful. Such a beautiful voice. And Richard being so very talented with the arrangements...
The greatest singer of all time, male or female. Karen Carpenter. Her talent is out of this world. Ethereal. Mind boggling. I thank the Lord for giving us Karen even for just a short moment.
Wow!! how beautiful... miss her so much.. Beautiful music to the ears. Richard on the piano made her music special to, as well as the arangements of Burt Bacharachs music. BUT HER VOICE WOW!
I miss you Karen. No one who sang ever touched my heart and my soul so deeply and so often as you. You were a wonderful gift to all of us. Thank you.....
I love that you used your vinyl copy for the audio portion of this video. It makes this even more special and heartfelt to me. This is really very lovely. Thank you for doing this.
Sometmes, not often enough, we relfect upon the good things and those thoughts always center around those we love, and I think about those people, who mean so much to me, and for so many years have made me, so very happy, and I count the times I have for gotten to say, thank you, and just how much I love them.
This has been viewed by so many, yet so few comments. I guess it's hard to find the words that can truely express the magnitude of our loss the day Karen left us.
Richards phenomenal piano work is really expressed in this song. this shows a tremendous amount of depth and emotion in his ability. that cannot be taught, that is a part of who he is.
This Song is so sad, & Beautiful it gives you goosebumps & makes you want to cry every time you hear it!!!! I Miss You KC RIP Sweet Angelic Angel! Thanx for the Original Version!!!!!!!
Karen Carpenter is the best female vocalist I've ever heard, and I've heard a lot, I'm an old timer compared to these YouTube kiddos. No one can touch KC, no one is even close. This song is really beautiful. Richard's piano intro is just wonderful.
My soul has been different since the first time I really listened to the lyrics of this incredible piece over 20 years ago. It's a rich feeling, full of regret and unspeakable joy as I recall with agony and ecstacy the people who have filled my life with such love, most of whom are gone now. I am reminded of my best friend, who died at 29 two days after I last saw him. I didn't say to him, "I love you", and I'll never have the chance again. I'll say it now, Jason. I love you. Forever.
Music by the late great Henry Mancini and the words by his daughter Felice, that she wrote as a poem to her parents and Mancini but those lyrics to music. Awesome and powerful!
I am different person after listening to this song, a better person; how can I not be.....Richard's piano work is astonishing, this is magic, PURE MAGIC!!!!
at :45, this is a photo that Karen enjoyed taking. There are a few with her teasing and making fun at the camera. That was Karen's essence and soul shining through. Karen in a lot of ways never lost or even moved on from the fragile innocence and pure fun of being a pre-teen and that suited her just fine. Unfortunately, the real world was waiting. A shame. Alot of photos were for the business, but once in a while the management let one showing the real Karen get published and I'm glad for that.
This is one of a series of photos taken by Annie Leibovitz for the "Rolling Stone" cover of July 4, 1976. In most of the ones I've seen, Karen is clowning for the camera with that floppy hat. I'd like a chance to see all of them; they're the cutist ones of her that exist, as far as I'm concerned....
In the 2002 BBC documentary, "Close to You: (etc.)" Richard Carpenter says that when she died, looking at the grand scheme of things, they were just getting started....
Dear Trichoone, My gratitude to you for selecting this song as your tribute to Karen.Thru'the years I have been priviledged sing/playtheirsongs.There is no voice like Karen.Could you help me find:'It's Gone'-from her latter solo album-lyrics:"There's no Song for the sadness,No Poetry for the pain,No color for the stain where the Tears have fallen.."
What a beautiful song! I'm such a fan of the lovely Karen Carpenter and know most of her songs by heart. It was such a treat to hear something I never heard before. I wish she were still with us!

Love them, and many people in Serbia
have loved Karen. I put The Carpenters in
the same category as Elvis, ABBA, Simon+Gar.
Nat King Cole, Boney M,... whenever I hear
todays music, I just feel like smashing
their tape or CD it annoys me so much.
Why is todays music so irritating and angry?
Merry Christmas.

The beauty of this song for me is that its the same music (basically) twice played. once as an instrumental and once vocalized.
I believe this is a Henri Mancini piece. Beautifully interpreted by Richard.
