It might be easier and less technical to go all out with butt stroke and jabs, but that might not show masterful technique and might not be what he want to display on the internet re his style.

He knows a lot, include several knife technics. He show us how easy to hurt somebody with a knife. If you block a move just a little bit inaccurate, the attacker will cut your wrist with a move. I'm enough good in hand-to-hand combat, but an unskilled attacker also can kill you with a hidden knife... off course, if you have no chance to escape, or your loved ones are in danger, you must attack, as fast as the lightning, as cruel as a tiger.

Look up the 21 ft rule. The video is called "Surviving Edged Weapons". Summary: Experienced police officers cannot prevent being stabbed at a distance of less than 21 ft if they simply try to shoot. Some sort of ability to survive the knife attack as essential.

Serious legal problems? If someone comes at you with a knife, you shoot! There are no legal issues, 100% justified. That is if you're in America. However, in many Central and South American countries, you can't shoot a knife attacker. In that sence these techniques are very helpful.

Good techniques if you dont want to shoot the attacker. Shooting is the last thing you have to do, only if the situation is very bad or if the attacker insists in trying to hurt you or another person. It can bring you serious legal problems, even if you shooted for defending yourself.

In a real situation he would be cutted in at least half of the moves he does. On most cases on the leg, and on the hand.

The main purpose here is to raise your percentage of survival, not make u invincible against cuts. It is impossible NOT to get cut or stabbed if someone is hell-bent to intentionally kill you. The key is to execute your training through years of training that produces muscle memory which produces quick reflexes. All this inspite of being cut. My pleasure, what some people may not realise, when you are in hand to hand combat at this range it is not that easy to hit the target who is rushing you. Even the US Police realise the 21 foot rule were the knife can have an advatage over the gun.

After reading the descrition it makes sense to me why he is doing what he is doing, also when in hand to hand fighting sometimes the attacker gets to you even before you get a shot off, so this is a good way to shift the attacker into a possition were it is easier to get a clean shot.
