Latin poetry is more like chant or rap depending entirely on combinations of long and short syllables like music. She misses that entirely. It might as well be the weather forecast!
This... could be alot better. Even though she stresse the ictus, the rythm is still ruined. It just so happens that my first language Estonian has, basically a system of THREE syllable lengths. I'm able to read Latin poetry without fail, in perfect meter, without stressing the ictus (meaning I don't make it sound Greek, but the hexametron remains). Romans didn't start stressing the ictus until atleast well into the tome of loosing the vowel length, and at that time, only for educational purposes.
why on earth those english speakers try to read latin?!?!? their pronunciation is sooooo crap!....come on! get back studying something else! and leave it to those who are at least capable to say 'r' ina not eng sounding way..!!!!!
Apparently there is an American Robert Sonkowsky, a scholar, who has no American accent. In fact I thought his pronunciation had a lot in common with Italian vowel values and Spanish's voiceless [s].
But still, it is classical, only HEAVY American accent. There actually exists an English traditional pronunciation that sounds like complicated English. Pronunciation is very important in all cases. They never get to use their potential skills, only after some time in the Antiquities sector or something.
grammar is classic, grammar is latin, but pronountiation is american, when you speak a language you always try not to speak it with the pronountiation from your language, that's what I mean

I have found that those posts that have run-on sentences and horrible punctuation are most likely written by people from the UK.
