This animal should be treated with gentleness and respect. You could've done what I did yesterday and gotten a tupperware bowl with a lid and using the lid gently persuaded him into the bowl. Closed the lid then released him into the wild. They are very beneficial creatures. Heck...some pet shops even sell them as pets!! heh,
