I used to be able to play this (no, not as well as in this video). Then I kind of fell away from the whole piano thing. Watching this again has made me want to start again. Such a wonderful piece of music.
Hey nice job but when you go into the part with the straight A flats in your right hand i suggest using ur 2nd and 3rd finger back and forth when playing the a flats rather than just using one finger. it lets the piece flow a little better and is better on ur wrist.
@ChuckHPJ922 " I just wish more people had heard of it before 'Halo 3". Why does it matter how people heard it for the first time, as long as they enjoy it. Get off your high horse.

Great job, the closest to what i expected to hear when i typed'' Chopin raindrop prelude''. It's at 99% what it should sound like, from my ears point of view.
be sure to really slam that deep bass note during the 'strom' (@ the 3:15 mark). it adds so much to the feeling of this particular part of the piece. And really lose yourself in the beauty of the incredibly simplistic moment at 3:42 - 3:46. These four seconds are, I believe, one of the most beautiful things Chopin every wrote.
Lovely. I remember learning this 20 years ago without any of the technical ability this guy has. I am no scholar of Chopin - and shoot me down in flames if you like - but I feel this performer has soooo much talent but only little regard for Chopin. It seems to me that this performance doesn't quite feel the Romanticism intented. Interpret and feel the emotional dynamics and let that show in your performance. If you do, then you will be there among the "Greats". I loved it, well done.
I donnt Know really alot of tha musics but I love ur interpretatiion.. You are a very talented person, I liove the piano, and when i heard that music played form ur hands I love it a lot more lolz.. well i only can say I hop e one day can play that :)
My Brother in Law played this for me when I was 12. He taught me to listen to the storm brewing. I will never forget it. You did < as usual, a marvelous job! You are a very talented pianist! You express allot of emotion in your playing of songs! Bravo!!
It is on my score. Some scores are just printed out differently, I suppose. It's all the same notes. Besides, the pedal markings are not commands, they are just suggestions.
The whole thing is spectacular. Dramatic, happy, sad it just shows how sensitive Chopin was too! I can't believe he didn't recognise his abilities at the time?! He's like one of the best composers to date..
I much enjoy your interpretation of this piece. I come here very often to take hints for my own interpretation. Keep up the good work! Thanks for sharing!
I'm commenting on yours because, unlike many players, you play with feeling. The music has an effect on you and it is transmitted back through the piano. That's what makes the difference between a player and a musician.
i've been watching every video of yours, one after another, and i am honestly amazed. few are the people who can transmit emotions via the piano as strongly as you do.
Wow. You're pretty dang good! I have been playing piano since I was seven, and I am gunna play this for my next piece! Wish me luck! So far I am playing/have played Invention15, Bach along with Fur Elise, Moonlight Sonata, a song by one of Bach's suns (forget the title) and the death march by Chopin (I played another Beethoven piece, but I forget it's title)
This piece is quite beautiful. I first heard it on episode #9 of Blood+ (anime series), when a little girl in the show plays the last minute of this prelude. Took a good hour of searching the internet trying to find out who it was that originally wrote the composition! Very happy to have finally found it.
Hey daivd, puisque visiblement tu dois comprendre le Fr... La musique est bien jouée, très bien même pour ta position et ta disposition, mais le piano devrait être accordé au plus vite, à moins que ce ne soit au début qu'il fait des siennes?
@ChuckHPJ922 in truth people should thank whoever decided on this song for the commercial, now lots more people know it and aspire to play it themselves
gah! just enjoy the piece and stop critiquing everything, remember there's no real right way to play it anyways, in the end it's the interpretation of the piano player ^_~
I'm starting my 8th year of piano and I'm currently working on this piece.
For those who didn't like it, which hopefully everyone DID like it, this piece is not easy to learn. Chopin was a detailed composer. Don't say anything negative until you have tried this.
I feel the middle section was too slow, had the same feel as the start... don't want the same thing throughout the whole piece. I think a little faster, with a 'pushy' or 'driving' feel makes it more forboding and especially more interesting, and makes a great contrast to the start and end.

This is one of my favorite pieces of all time, and you do such a beautiful job!! *applauds* Loving it, especially the minor sections.... normally I would speed up a little for those, but I think I'm going to try it your way now. Woot!
Played so beautifully. I am actually performing this prelude in about a week, I find so many interpretations a little hard to take, but this one hits the nail on the head as far as my taste goes! Bravo!
