  • You play so graceful <3

  • I used to be able to play this (no, not as well as in this video). Then I kind of fell away from the whole piano thing. Watching this again has made me want to start again. Such a wonderful piece of music.

  • Dommage pour le bruit de fond, sinon très belle interprétation, bravo !

  • @idontknow883 my music teacher said EXACTLY the same thing to me today haha

  • I don't see sheet music.. do you play this by ear and by memory!? wonderful performance :)

  • Hey nice job but when you go into the part with the straight A flats in your right hand i suggest using ur 2nd and 3rd finger back and forth when playing the a flats rather than just using one finger. it lets the piece flow a little better and is better on ur wrist.

  • @ChuckHPJ922 " I just wish more people had heard of it before 'Halo 3". Why does it matter how people heard it for the first time, as long as they enjoy it. Get off your high horse.

  • This guy has more viewers than Vladimir Horowitz ! And rightly so !

    What a gifted player !

  • Hi I have to tell you I love how you play, there are some videos I seen of you and the firts was "clair de lune" fascinates me, and now I'm just starting to like chopin and you show me one that I didn't know, thanks !!! by touching and upload your videos.

    Greetings from Monterrey, Mexico.

  • ショパンが聞きたくなって探してここにきました

    懐かしい感じがする演奏で、癒されました

    どうもありがとう

  • i m addicted to this piece !

  • i want to get married with someone like this guy !!!

  • I love the way you play this! Awesome pace and rubato

  • you breath the life into this amazing beautiful song. Rest assured Chopin would be proud people like you are doing him and this piece justice.

  • That was really good!:) Check out our webshow. We go on adventures but we have a clip of this piece being played in our latest upload:) Thanks! Keep playing:)

  • Wonderful....

  • bravo!

  • Great job, the closest to what i expected to hear when i typed'' Chopin raindrop prelude''. It's at 99% what it should sound like, from my ears point of view.

    Thx for the masterpiece.

  • Very nice interpretation, not too fast, not too slow. Great job!

  • This is very great,it cam be played with the upmost feeling and it just changes me inside. Great job!

  • I love the balence of that piano, and you work with it very well, what kind of piano is it? Thanks

  • Lovely. I remember learning this 20 years ago without any of the technical ability this guy has. I am no scholar of Chopin - and shoot me down in flames if you like - but I feel this performer has soooo much talent but only little regard for Chopin. It seems to me that this performance doesn't quite feel the Romanticism intented. Interpret and feel the emotional dynamics and let that show in your performance. If you do, then you will be there among the "Greats". I loved it, well done.

  • I donnt Know really alot of tha musics but I love ur interpretatiion.. You are a very talented person, I liove the piano, and when i heard that music played form ur hands I love it a lot more lolz.. well i only can say I hop e one day can play that :)

  • My Brother in Law played this for me when I was 12. He taught me to listen to the storm brewing. I will never forget it. You did < as usual, a marvelous job! You are a very talented pianist! You express allot of emotion in your playing of songs! Bravo!!

  • best version on youtube

  • sounds pretty good

  • Nice job! I love this song...fave chopin <3

  • /watch?v=3rridXskgWg

The piece can also be found here. It's in a trailer.

  • sounds like it

  • I´m sorry, I have not said it well, i meant if one should use the pedal in the C sharp minor section as it is not indicated in the score.

  • ahh i see :)

  • It is on my score. Some scores are just printed out differently, I suppose. It's all the same notes. Besides, the pedal markings are not commands, they are just suggestions.

  • Isn't this the song in the Halo 3 commercial!?

  • Yes, it is.

  • Excellent job!!! I don't know why anyone would rate this less than 5 stars!!!!!

  • wow! I like the liberties you took with the tempo ^___^

  • ur piano has a very vintage and club sounding style to it

  • "its not a song! ita piece!" my grandma yells that at me whenever i call it a song. "songs have words!"

  • @idontknow883

Have younot heard of "Songs Without Words". I think this piece is one!

  • @idontknow883 its not a piece its a "MASTERPIECE"

  • @skkiittllezz it's not a masterpiece it's "PERFECTION"

  • its a masterpiece*

  • The whole thing is spectacular. Dramatic, happy, sad it just shows how sensitive Chopin was too! I can't believe he didn't recognise his abilities at the time?! He's like one of the best composers to date..

  • my bfffff plays this! its beeeeautiful!

  • Believe.

  • I much enjoy your interpretation of this piece. I come here very often to take hints for my own interpretation. Keep up the good work! Thanks for sharing!

  • wunderschön!

  • im working on this song.

  • I play this too - please check out my video!

I'm commenting on yours because, unlike many players, you play with feeling. The music has an effect on you and it is transmitted back through the piano. That's what makes the difference between a player and a musician.

  • i've been watching every video of yours, one after another, and i am honestly amazed. few are the people who can transmit emotions via the piano as strongly as you do.

  • greaaattt i love it

  • Man i love this song, i'm trying to learn it right now but its still gonna take a lot of practice to get it to anywhere near where you got it.

  • beautiful :D i started this a year ago, i'm almost done! not sure i can play it as well as you, but i can sure as hell try.

  • c# minor part is the best..

  • It is gorgeous and full of emotion.

:) I'm glad to say my interpretation is extremely similar to yours. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • C'est Magnifique. I love your interpretation of this Chopin's Raindrop Prelude. Keep up da good work

  • i always pronounce Chopins name wrong because every one I meet pronounces it different! its so confusing to me. can anyone tell me the right way?

    ******************************************

Your playing was beautiful my friend and I are fans of your playing and your channel! what an amazing song.

  • Shoh - pen

That's the way my Musicology prof says it.

  • thank you so much!

  • but you have to pronounce the "i" trough the nose like a french person

  • haha. ok. thanks!

  • pronounced show-pan

  • Beautiful!!

  • Wow. You're pretty dang good! I have been playing piano since I was seven, and I am gunna play this for my next piece! Wish me luck! So far I am playing/have played Invention15, Bach along with Fur Elise, Moonlight Sonata, a song by one of Bach's suns (forget the title) and the death march by Chopin (I played another Beethoven piece, but I forget it's title)

  • i cant handle it i love this

  • If you use some dynamic contrast, your playing will improve 200%.

  • wow, amazing.

    reallly

  • magnifique!!! bravo..

  • AMAZING, you have a god given gift

  • It's amazing how easy he makes it look. He's soooo talented!

  • This piece is quite beautiful. I first heard it on episode #9 of Blood+ (anime series), when a little girl in the show plays the last minute of this prelude. Took a good hour of searching the internet trying to find out who it was that originally wrote the composition! Very happy to have finally found it.

  • they used this in a halo 3 ad

  • teriffic i loved this one ever since 5th grade

  • what are u sayin'?

  • If I understand, you mean he should've played it faster, at least in the beginning?

if so, I have to disagree with you, I'm playing this song myself and watched many videos of it and it shouldn't be played faster than this.

  • I think by dynamic contrast camaysar meant accents/crescendos/decrescendos, etc. Although, I think it sounds beautiful as is.

  • Very much reminds me of Horowitz interpretation....brilliant.

  • Wow... excellent job.

  • OMG!!It's so beautiful!

    I can't stop listening it!

  • great job

  • WWOOOOOOOOONDERFUL. And that's in all caps, so you know it's awesome.

  • great interpretation, 5 stars! I'd appreciate it if you have a look at my video of this piece.

  • I love this piece! You play it soooo beautifully!

  • I adore this piece. I learned it last year for a competition, but I didn't play it nearly as beautiful as yours. Amazing interpretation :D

  • HALO 3 Believe! good job i love this song :)

  • It's called "Chopin - Raindrop", not Halo - Believe.

  • i know but it was in the halo 3 commercial called halo 3 believe ;)

  • Actually it's called Prelude Op. 28 No. 15, Chopin never named any of the preludes :P

  • the bass starting at 1:46 is so ominous!

  • My favorite part!!!

  • id fuck you

  • your fingers are so graceful nd well done =]

  • just the same beauty as in claire de lune...

  • This is a hard song to learn, let alone to play well. You did justice to this song. I just wish more people had heard of it before 'Halo 3'

  • @ChuckHPJ922 in truth people should thank whoever decided on this song for the commercial, now lots more people know it and aspire to play it themselves

  • @ChuckHPJ922 im 14 and it took me about a month to get the first 3 pages down but the last 1 and a half always give me trouble

  • Yay! This is in HALO3 Believe!

  • gah! just enjoy the piece and stop critiquing everything, remember there's no real right way to play it anyways, in the end it's the interpretation of the piano player ^_~

  • I thought this was pretty good.

I'm starting my 8th year of piano and I'm currently working on this piece.

For those who didn't like it, which hopefully everyone DID like it, this piece is not easy to learn. Chopin was a detailed composer. Don't say anything negative until you have tried this.

  • I feel the middle section was too slow, had the same feel as the start... don't want the same thing throughout the whole piece. I think a little faster, with a 'pushy' or 'driving' feel makes it more forboding and especially more interesting, and makes a great contrast to the start and end.

  • Pretty sure I have found my new favourite pianist (next to Lugansky). You are not only an amazing pianist, but a truly gifted and fatastic musician. Never let anyone EVER tell you otherwise.

  • This is just Fan-tas-tic !

i've seen more videos of this prelude,

but i find this the best !

I'm practicing it at the moment, but it's harder than it looks like :P

i really love to play the part at 1.45 !

    but, you're doing reaaly well ! :D

  • halo 3 baby!

  • I enjoy listenng to this. Thanks you.

  • This is fantastic. I'm learning this at the moment, but it's a lot harder than it looks.

  • u r my admire.... !!!!

  • that is really beautiful.

  • nice phrases!

  • love this interpretation, this plus the horowitz one are my favorites

  • im learning this piece too ^^

    good job!

  • really NICE!!

  • I'm learning this piece

so this is a good bench mark for me

I think you play it very well not just correctly and with a good technique but also with some feeling

    very impressed

  • MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dude...this is sweet.

  • si lo so ma è la canzone di halo believe

  • This is your agent writing: Put your name on these Youtube videos, starting now. Anonimity doesn't suit you, or your talents.

  • His names David Bérubé

  • good job, man

  • halo 3 believe

  • The audio isn't the worst i've heard on youtube, it's a great rendition too...

  • It sounds wonderful <3

  • it's a shame the audio quality is so bad because you're doing an awesome job playing one of my all time favorite pieces of music!

  • thanks for this video! it's a good help for me as I'm also learning this.*****

  • Me semblais aussi quand l'annonce de Halo3 passais javais deja entendu la chanson quelque part, stune mechante belle chanson

  • verry well done

i'm playing this 1 4 my 6th grade piano exam

  • This is one of my favorite pieces of all time, and you do such a beautiful job!! *applauds* Loving it, especially the minor sections.... normally I would speed up a little for those, but I think I'm going to try it your way now. Woot!

  • eww it a little too fast

  • why "eww"? lol, does it make you feel ill?

  • wonderful. hearing you play this prelude is like dreaming. amazing. keep going on!

  • Played so beautifully. I am actually performing this prelude in about a week, I find so many interpretations a little hard to take, but this one hits the nail on the head as far as my taste goes! Bravo!

  • beautifull song well played.

and guys, stop asking if its the song from the halo 3 trailer, YES IT IS! STFU! Who cares about halo! Just listen to the music

  • ACTUALY halo is VERY good but i agree just live with the fact IT IS ON IT BUT LISTEN TO THE MUSIC dont question what its on

  • is this the one from halo?

  • yepp:P well, the advert.

  • its also from eternal sonata

  • is this from the halo ads?

  • Brilliant. One of my favourites...

  • Bravo! I love the emotion you put into your playing. I can perceive the darkness and feel the cold dampness as the rain falls. Keep up the good work.

  • played with a beautiful hand best i have heard

  • Hey you're relly good! so clean

  • O_M_G... u can easily go upstairs & kick god's balls!! ur FREAkIN AWESOME!!

  • Actually this was written in 1838.

    My favorite version on youtube.

  • It's also the song played in an episode of the anime Big O... but that's kind of an obscure fact.

Brilliant playing, by the way. There are several other versions on YouTube and this one is my favorite.

  • This is the new theme from the Halo 3 ads, woop woop

  • Wow your quick dude!! The ad was only out 2 months ago and this piece was witten over 200 years ago!!

  • Well im sure it was ( WITTEN ) 200 years ago.

I am not really into classical music so this is a new piece of music to me as I am not 200 years old. Now as for saying I am quick, I only decided to find out who composed this music yesyerday as I liked it that much so once finding who it was done by it was a NEW revelation to me. So am I to be critised for researching a fine piece of music????

  • which book is this from?

  • The left hand is too loud... although, wonderful piece!

  • Also, too much rubato.

  • Left hand two loud in the beginning, I reckon.

  • Bloody Brilliant

  • Nicely done man.

  • Absolutely perfect. You got it right there man! Thank you for sharing it with us! Keep it up :)

  • No wonder Chopin's known as the poet of the piano. The is more than just music, it paints a vivid picture in your mind. Great playing.

  • beautiful work :] chopin is my favorite

  • lovely. chopin is my favorite.

  • beautiful!

  • everything about this is perfect...gave me the chills

  • Halo is awesome.

  • right on i agree. DONUTIZER 118- gamer tag

    just in case

  • omg...brilliant...perfectly played

  • halo 3 rocks!!!

  • Enough with the friggin halo. I like halo, but I swear to god, if I hear the "elephunt" again, I will kick that person's ass. Talk about it with your geeky friends.

  • Sorry dude, but I wouldn't have heard this song if it weren't for the commercial. Is it bad that I love both?

  • yes, most people do tend to either rush or fail to meet the actual tempo on this peice.

  • He's right, this tempo is perfect. The problem with a lot of people playing it these days is that they're going too slow. Keep it up!

  • Excellent tempo and dynamic control. One of the best versions of this piece I've heard. The part between 2:25 and 3:38 is possibly the greatest musical passage ever written. Raindrop Prelude is actually probably one of the greatest musical pieces ever.

  • i see that enjoy those heavy major chords.

  • Yes you are amazing! That was beautifully done! such skill!

  • I play this piece myself but I really like the way you play it! Nice tempo etc :) Good job!

  • This is the most beautiful piano piece I have ever heard.

  • same here =) spectacular job!

  • you look like lucky luke from the side. you should put a cowboy hat on next time you play, heh. jj
