If I were that homeowner I'd have a rifle ready for them. An air rifle or BB rifle, that is. Not to wound them, but just enough to deter them from ever returning to my yard.
@SpringtimeSkies129 I had been thinking that there was a second unseen mother bear nearby, but a neighbor saw six bear cubs and one momma the other night too! Thanks to my dogs that I had a chance to see the bears. They started barking out the windows at 6 AM or so and that's how I was alerted!
Calling on N.J. hunters to speak up against baiting bear with human and pet food in the woods. Unfortunately, this is the norm. The first 264 kills showed up at the weigh stations right on time but unless you kill every bear, all the others that hit your pile will most likely come out again looking for what they got a taste for in residential garbage. This could go on for generations. I know there are some real hunters left-please speak up. Please see Donuts for Boo Boo N.J. on YouTube.
We now have a situation where these huge bait piles are sitting there full of donuts, syrup, candy, dog chow, pounds of grain, etc. Easy food for desperate, orphaned young to be hooked on and show up at residential garbage and farm fields later on. It’s easy to see the whole cycle repeating again. Calling on N.J. hunters to speak up once again-please: See Donuts for Boo Boo N.J. on You Tube
Ok so I did some research...5-cub litters are uncommon and 6-cub litters have only been recorded twice! Once in Manitoba and once in Pennsylvania....and NOW, in NJ! :)
@xxequineluvrxx it would be amazing if that is true. my theory is that there was another Momma bear that may have been in the woods nearby, but they do sure follow this Momma when the car came up the drive way. My friend Wendy (bugsme10) thinks she was baby sitting LOL!! (see below)
WOW. You should look up the record...I HAVE NEVER heard OF OR FOR THAT MATTER SEEN 6 CUBS TO one bear MOMMA!.....Probable, if not very RARE footage Rich!.....NICE.
Great video. How cool :) SIX cubs ... WOW! Mommy is busy.

often if a female is killed wildlife officals will try to get another female to adopt the cub. But 6 is alot for one female to care for.
