With regards to the promotion of this song, sometimes I get the impression that the record companies(Motown & Epic) wanted the Jacksons to fail. It seems like they were so big that the labels probably were annoyed that none of their artists were not even close to the level of the Jacksons's level.

I don't have all the specifics, but Can You Feel It received less promotion than Heartbreak Hotel which is why more often you are likely to hear Heartbreak Hotel on the radio today than CYFI, it all depends on how a song is promoted when it originally was released
