I thought this was an amazing advert when I saw it on TV, and then when I learnt it was real, it made it even more amazing. Also if you listen in the background at the end when all the paint has rained down on the playground, you can hear a car alarm. Indeed, this was all completely real. Well It was filmed in Toryglen in Glasgow, and the paint was watered down a bit so it made for easier clean-up, think they buildings are due for demolition in the next few years

do you actually know anything about this ad? all the paint was non-toxic and even safe enough to drink. extensive clean up was undertaken after the filming. I'm all for the environment, but read up a bit more before you begin to rant.

I liked the bouncing balls ad a lot better, and I think that the reason is that the balls were bouncing in a place I'd actually like to live in. It felt homey. The balls were an intrusion, but a friendly, happy intrusion (see the making of video to see how destructive the balls really were). But this one is just about destruction, demolition. You can tell that the place was slated for demolition. This isn't bringin color to a place full of life. It's exploding color on a building corpse.

The paint thats exploding out of the ground is CG, though I think they did blow up some turf, minus the paint.

The rest however is REAL. I have photos of the buildings still coated in the paint afterwards. They've obviously got rid of the cranes holding up barrels of paint 50-60ft above the ground and the canons firing paint up towards them on the ground.

Those high rise flats are being demolished on the 3rd of December.

Sorry but that's actually not the case. I know, I know, you think it's fake but I was actaully there. There's canons firing paint up, barrels suspended in mid-air, barrels strapped to the buildings and turf laid over where there were explosions on the ground. The equiptment has, however, been edited out. Sucks not being right. You'll be ok. At least I didn't say DOBBER!

Now stop talking down to people and just enjoy the ad like everyone else.

Speaking of trained eyes how did you get your training. I was incharge of the effects on this job and we used over 70 tons of coloured liquid and four times more explosives than they used to demolish the building
