Hey Peter, that was awesome! I almost spit up my coffee when Wil beeped at the other spaceship because it was flying too slow. And what a cool project to do together! You can't buy times together like that.
The little guy went toan undiscovered city, yet the city on Creplon was too far way? "The planet was burning up my feet, now the jetpack is burning my butt." Hehehe. "Fire!" *Star Destroyer Explodes* HAHAHA-cough-HAHA. A six year old blowing up a star destroyer...that is priceless. Great job with the video. It's impressive. This'll be interesting to show him when he get's older.
It was the second hardest part of doing the video; the first hardest part being clearing out my garage so I could pull the car in to do the interior shots!
The spaceship was a freeware 3d model I found on the web which I was able to plug in to Anim8tor, a freeware 3d animation program. The other spaceships, the space station, and the harbor buoy were also freeware 3d models. I had never used a 3d animation program so I had to learn how to use it by doing and reading the manual that came with the program.
Simply charming, great for educating the young man in video posting , he's now a star. Thanks for including the freeware list in your bio. Who needs television?
I used Anim8tor for the animations, Gimp for editing the still pictures, Audacity for editing the sound and Pinnicle Studio 10 to edit the video. Everything, except Pinnacle, is freeware!

did you make the space ship move around using studio or animate it in anim8tor?
chiplatham 4 years ago
That`s really great! You should be a director.

Once I had the animation done in Anim8tor I saved it as an AVI, which could then be opened in Studio.
