@tjman543 Burning approx. 540 calories every three games. Throwing 14-16lb balls at a precise location. Using over 130 muscles, more than if you were shot-putting, which people call a "real sport".
@slowfaller During that time Pete Weber was a relative newcomer and trying to establish himself on the tour as a nationally known name. Pete had already joined the PBA at the age of 17, despite the PBA age requirement of being 18 as well as the ABC regulation that no minor could bowl in adult events. So at this point there was alot of resentment by other PBA members. Also Petes history of getting away with behavior that far surpassed what other members had been ousted for allowed this to leak.
Hey guyssssss, Check out my video in my account :D I guarantee you laughter, I'm drinking a raw egg (Which tasted like armpit) And tried to sneeze with my eyes open, Hope you like it Guys! :) Thanks for your time! :):):)
@amitlevy10 There is a high % chance to strike if the ball enters at an angle in the pocket (in between the 1 and 3 pin). In this match, Del's line to the pocket had him playing close to the gutter. He was so amp'ed up because he had this match basically won, he missed a bit right with a bit more ball speed which resulted it going into the channel.
This was a rigged outcome. I remember the buzz shortly after this occurred that Dick Weber had taken all four finalists into his office separately prior to this telecast. Each man was guaranteed the monetary difference between first and second AND that a place for their name would be secured in the PBA Hall Of Fame... only make sure the victory was believable. Every member feared Dick Weber and only murmured quietly about it until his passing. This event is well known in the vintage PBA circles.
So I'm thinking : f i was in this situation, whether I am a pro or not, I forget about the curl and just shotgun that ball down the lane as hard and fast as i can, aiming for the little space tween the lead pin and the 2 or 3 pin behind it right? It's not like you need a strike, you just need 7 measly pins.
Side note - on a pro condition if you play that far out it is very easy to toss it in the gutter - this isn't your normal league shot where it strikes wherever you throw the ball
@BobbyLundmark1 So by your logic, I could throw at the ten pin on my first shot and I would get a strike. Looks to me like you're more than a little retarded in your thinking.
@htc6600 He's talking about the walled effect of house shots. On a house shot there's a big difference in how much oil is to the left of your line compared to how much oil is to the right. On a pro pattern, the difference is very small. So instead of missing a little right and the ball hooking harder like it would on a house pattern (because of the dry boards on the outside), Del missed a little right and it tried hooking the same...except by that point it was in the gutter.
@htc6600 By my logic and ability yes - on a league shot I could throw it directly at the 10 pin and hook it in for a strike with ease - however on a pro shot I could not. Clearly the retarded one is you since by your comment I can see you know nothing of the sport
@dembkomj Have u ever bowled in leagues, bowling is not as easy as one would think it is. While I do have a 300 game and a 700 series to my credit, its all about making slight adjustments!
And this is why most pro bowlers throw their spare balls straight down the middle when they need count to win. So many do it now, and even ive done to win a couple league games when im on anchor.

Bowling: the sport of rolling a ball 70 feet 11-21 times. I'm sorry, did I say sport?

Thats pretty bad. I don't bowl but I would at least hit the pins. I don't know if I would get 7 but I would get at least 1.

@amitlevy10 the ball reacts with the lane because of how they oil them so if they throw it up the middle it'll hook to the other gutter.
Scott17taylor 3 months ago
why do they always have to curve the ball when they throw?

@ctom30872
Its easier to throw a consistent curve that knocks down 7 or more pins. A Gutterball like this is rare.

Its scary when you play a line so close to the gutter. If you miss even a little bit, its bad news.
