Hah.... I spent ages looking for this in the firm belief it was the Beach Boys...! All the harmonising etc is way Beach Boys style... How it only got to 37 baffles me...
@teflonmike1 Snap - have just got here after putting it in as Beach Boys! The voice is smoother than Beach Boys though, but definitely sun and sea music

Ha ha, Brings back memories of a slap across the head from a teacher for drawing a scene from the song on my maths note pad. Beautiful song and the slap never got it out of my mind. This song and All Night by Chris Rainbow were classic Summer Hits which will always bring me back to the wonderful hot summer days of the great 70's. Thanks for sharing!
First time I heard this song , I thought it was the Beach Boys! 35 years later it has remained one of my all time favourite songs & has become a timeless classic. I never get tired of listening to it.
Brilliant record that I still have and PLAY on vinyl.Only reached No 37!!!!!!!!! in Britain in1976.Should have been top 5 at least ! Pax to all from 73soulboy.Xxx.
There's certain songs I remember that got a lot of Airplay on Metro Radio in Newcastle at the time. All classics - yet very few of them charted well. It's brilliant to hear them again - inc this one.
Beautiful harmonies on this. A record I purchased in 1976.I bought this at a shop in Southgate which was opposite the 'Mayfair' cafe. Happy hot summer days . Thanks for posting.Pax to all from Ian Smith.Xxx.
Chris resides in Sussex, still writing ,his "follow up" to Mouth Music...a co-composed album of dreamy 1960's surf styled songs entitled the Surfonics can be found posted on my myspace page, just search out James Crowther..the guy is a vocal arranger of Genius, this was the first record I ever purchased ....MOUTH MUSIC is out now on an extended cd in Japan!
Sorry, but the best records the Beach Boys never made were the 3 fabulous albums by Chris Rainbow, who was a one-man Beach Boys in vocal, writing and production talent. One of his songs was a tribute to the
summer/beach/surf/girls/cars sound Brian perfected - Dear Brian. No greater homage has ever been paid to him than that.
Another contender for this accolade is the one album by American Spring; it was produced by Brian, and includes the greatest BW song they never recorded - Sweet Mountain.
Firstly, this is definitly not Chris White of the Zombies as I just asked him! (hes on a well known networking site), secondly, the spanish wine Chris White is definitely English as I happen to have known him personally but dont know where he is these days (hence the reason I asked the other Chris White!). There is a track on his album called Zombie Jamboree, this is maybe where the confusion is arising. HTH
A tremendous tune for sure! Lou Christie covered it in the '70s as well. However, this Chris White is NOT the Zombies bassist. The Spanish Wine Chris is American. And to confuse matters even more, there are still other Chris Whites recording out there, too! Just an FYI.
I knew this was a different Chris White to the Zombies one, but I thought he's English not American. I've got his album 'Mouth Music' and it's on the (British) Charisma label and despite the Beach Boys influence I think his vocals sound very English. Lovely song anyway!
got this on cd 'remember this in 1976' being driven home from school' in my teachers jag 'as i was ill 'envy of my mates' car was hot but she wasnt and i was only 10 at the time 'now im 43 . great year 'great songs.
Hi me again not sure why you picked the song but I too collected the Hot Hits series and of all of them number 2 stands out as there's great cover versions on it. Both Elton John & Tina Charles sang on that one
Was a big favourite on the radio turntables at the time. I never understood why it didn't do better on the charts. Never hear it now which is a shame. Great song.
Great song, use to work with Chris' sister-in law back in the mid 70' in Spalding

Forgotten all about this one - a double A-side, effectively.
Excellent posting, my friend.
White, Argent and Blunstone all made excellent records after the group split.
