  • The major problem with blocking this way is that your wrist, while being versatile, is still one of the weakest point in your body. To rely primarily on the wrist to block will only result in injury (if the incoming strike was of sufficient strength, which would not have to be very hard) and subsequent death. Taking a cue from many of the actual Star Trek videos showing choreographed fights gives you a better way to not only block, but also better positioning (en garde, foot movement, stances)

  • Huh? I'm confused, why would you need to be large to manoeuvre that thing? It looks like it's made of foam.

  • These are heavy plywood with padding on the business end. They are designed to weigh the correct weight assuming that the imaginary TV metal were real.  Getting hit with a swinging 1.5-2.5 kilos will get your attention.

  • I don't know how many people will realize that this is a pretty significant contribution in terms of the development of real batleth form.
