Love this and love the ideas of you listing recipes on here = ) Also I love how clean and neat looking your kitchen table is in the background, what is that in the middle of your table, a basket and its sitting on something?
Hi Marnie, I've heard you mention trips to cool places in other videos. Any chance you would include travel pointers/tips, trip planning or something like that occasionally on this channel? Love the cooking/ household stuff too!
I've just realized your left handed... Me too. How have I not noticed before?!
I hope you do more of these videos because I really liked it. My son kept giggling he thought bell pepper was so funny. We call them capsicums in Australia.
LOL I had just put bell peppers in the pan to saute before I started watching this! Great video, thank you! (I'll try cutting them your way next time . . .)
Super great tip!! THank you! I always trim them face down and they slide everywhere. I have never considered flipping them over. What rock do I live under???
I think this is a great tip! Yes it's faster just to cut the pepper in half and scoop out the seeds, but then I spend just as much time cutting all the pith away from my slices. Now I won't have to. Thanks!
@sxd29 It's not that I mind the tip; I learn a lot from what is shared in the comments. I just didn't really appreciate the way it was first presented-it seemed mean spirited to me. Your second comment was much more constructive and helpful. For me, I'm usually pressed for time, so saving time is more important to me than saving a small amount of the vegetable. But, it's interesting to learn that the shows on TV focus on doing things quickly. I did not know that!
Cool! That is exactly how I cut my peppers! I used to try and cut from the top down and in a circle, then pull the heart out, but i found it so much easier to just cut the sides away like this. This is also how I cut an apple, leaving just a rectangular cube with the core in it! Now, how about sharing the pizza recipe? ;)
I wonder how many people thought this looked weirdish (but didn't realize why) because they're used to watching cooking shows with people cutting with their right hands, instead of their left. :)
I did not know this! And I'm Italian and have been cooking for years! Thanks for this tip. Btw - I seriously thought you were going to cut yourself a few times when you were swinging that knife around!!!
Dude just cut it in half like an apple then rip out the heart or white stuff with your hands. That's what I do. Then make pretty, thin slices or cubes afterwards.
Another way to do it (also learned on the Food Network) is to cut off the top and the bottom of the pepper then cut around the seeds and the ribbing, almost like you would skin a fillet of fish (hard to describe in words)...
What a great tip for me haha. I always cut the stem out, cut in half vertically & proceed to take out the seeds. This way is so much easier and less time-consuming. Thank you so much!
I LOVE roasting veggies...especially root veggies during the fall and winter. We like to do herbed roasted chicken with roasted fingerling potatoes, onions, and carrots. It makes great left-overs, too. Love this video!
Nice tip Marnie! I'm a Food Network junkie as well as YT! We roast veggies a lot. Its amazing how much it changes the flavor of them. We started doing it after Scott was diagnosed with diabetes. Our favorite is roasted asparagus. I make it when we have broiled fish and jasmine rice. The one thing I add to it and many other veggies I roast is to slice a lemon and squeeze the juice on them.YUM! I may have to do this tomorrow now! I really hope you do more cooking videos! I'll be watching!
