No it is a Hapkido move not a TKD/Aikido move. You are watching a Hapkido video. :) Aikido is very similar to Hapkido, although you won't get most Hapkido instructors to admit it. lol I have a 5th degree in Aikido and moved over to Hapkido and kept saying hey I know that technique! So I advanced rather quickly. My judo and Jui Jitsu background also helped. TKD uses some of Hapkido for their self defense aspects. Now if TKD is just a sport why would they teach self defense?
it's good techniques but it's kinda hard to learn.. can anyone here show it step by step with a close up of how to lock, grab and of course break? thanks
I have found the Turtlepress dvd's to be well worth the investment. They are economically priced and deliver a lot of info. If you are wondering about a good self defense series for yourself or loved ones, this is worth checking out.
