@Missomethinqelsee two reasons: first, rachel released the time capsule, so no one would've even seen jimmy edwards' video. also, rachel told jimmy that he would never be popular and practically called him a loser which pushed him off the edge. the next day was the shooting, and dan wouldn't have shot keith if jimmy hadn't brought a gun to school.
