They lost the finals against the NBA :-) The Greece Team you are talking about was great in the 80ies an 90ies. Nowadays, Spain, France and maybe Russia ruke European Basketball. Turkey, Germany, Greece etc. are the follow-ups. Of course Greece might win against Turkey. But so did Turkey against Spain. It all depends on daily fitness and a little bit of luck. To me, there is no big difference anymore

GS have an Uefa Cup but in the year they were at CL and was knocked out as 3rd! (correct me if I am wrong, I do not remember well, but I was sure that GS and Arsenal was at CL first at that year)
I like GS as a team and I hate the english teams (Arsenal for e.g.), so I do not have a problem with that!

Since then we only played some friendly games, the draws for the 2006 WC qualifiers and the loss for the euro qualifiers.
As you probably know, uefa had a policy of not allowing a draw between the two countries (which i think was quite excused :)).
Anyway, looking forward to the game next month. Hope it's a good game.

1)turkey volleyball team(women) went to world voleyball finals and china olympics(also 2002 gold 2003 silver medal)
2)men volleyball team went to grand prix for world finals(from now to later no title)
3)men basketball team had won 2001 eurobasket silver medal and in 2006 6th)
4)women basket team went to eurobasket finals and will go china olympics
