the bee suit makes it easier... you didn't have to stomp the thing.

The idea was, if he got you with the bubbles, you lose the advantage of the bee suit, and have to do it with the rising platform things.

If you don't want the bee suit just get hit by the bubbles, it's only water it won't even kill you even if you're normal mario...the only way you can die with this boss is if you touch those things on the ground to many times.
