God, does this take me back to the endless hours I spent f'ing around with this thing when I was in my teens circa '84. I ended up playing a lot of the same riffs, over and over. You could also do "Automatic" and "Jump" by the Pointer Sisters and just about anything Giorgio Moroder recorded, ha ha
Great "jump patch"! But synth presentations like this should be all about the sound. The video opening looked rather pro, the audio should be the same. As you say, the sound isn't justified. But it can be with some proper recording through a line in on a sound card. And then sync the sound with a clap or anything. Otherwise, some great patches there!
I wouldn't say so. It is pretty easy to edit sounds on the synth without the PG-200, but programming with it goes much faster. I have it and i know what i'm talking about. I'm not saying that you should have a PG-200, but it's really nice if you need to tweak the sound just a little bit.

I just sold this JX-3P... I never said I would, but I did. I'm replacing it with an Ensoniq SQ-80.

are all those stock patches?
BlackGnosis 3 years ago
Nope, I made them all myself right on the synth. No need to get the PG-200 programmer, its a waste of money.

Harold Faltermeyer used this particular synth as well as a Roland Jupiter-8 and a Yamaha DX7 on his Axel F theme from Beverly Hills Cop.
