  • Love it!

  • Great song and the tone of the amp is always amazing. What kinda of speakers are in that Marshall cabinet and can I get your music on itunes?

  • Thank you! The cab on this is my '68 Marshall slant cab with '71 dated G12M 75hz 25 watters. My first instrumental CD "Can You Hear It Ring?" has 8 songs on it and it's sold out in hard copy form but is all now on Itunes. That said, the tune in this video "Lunar Eclipse" will be remixed and then put on my 2nd instrumental CD which is still in the works.

  • Thanks! I was playing an early 90s mexican Fender P-bass w/SD pickup into a cheap Whirlwind DI > Tascam m520 board > Tascam MS16 analog tape deck. During mixdown I used a DBX 166 compressor. During the jam I split the signal back out to a solid state power amp and 1x15 JBL cab. I had the volume cranked WAY up to get the controlled feedback going with the bass plus I was standing right next to the cab. The bass and drums on this was 100% improvised, and over a decade later I added the guitar.

  • @GlenKuykendall Many thanks for the reply!

  • Sweet sound and playing Glen. Does your "wreck" have el84s in it or something else? Thanks, Keo

  • Thanks! I used my '89 Trainwreck Express on this tune running NOS RFT EL34s.

  • Damn sweet - happy new year

  • your guitar tone is always amazing! Thanks for sharing. I have been looking for this sound my entire guitar life. I first heard of TW amps on your vids. Cant thank you enough for sharing. Cheers.

  • I really appreciate the note!

  • Superb!

  • Glen, you rock!! Looking forward to the next CD.

  • just killer!!!!

  • Awewsome, you are a master of tone.

  • Very Nice!!

  • Awesome.

  • Dude. You should do the human race a favor and post detailed pics of this amp's guts on the net.

  • whoever disliked this video.. did it purely out of spite. they will never be this good.

  • Glen you are a musicians musician! The LP and Trainwreck sound sooooo sweet is your hands!

  • And oh yea, neat slide sounds!!!

  • May I ask what your usual signal chain is when you record through your Trainwreck? (i.e. mic(s), position, preamp, (dynamics processing?), A/D converter) Whatever it is you consistently capture the tone quite well. Thanks.

  • My recording gear has been changed quite a bit over the years. The is a Royer R121L ribbon mic centered at the grill leaned forward, mixed with a Sennheiser e906 right next to it. Also used a Neumann KM184 as a room mic but the room is dead and the mic almost off. The mix of the 3 was about 60/35/5. API pres, Apogee converters, DAW mixed hybrid w/UAD2, Lexicon PCM60 & a couple other pieces. Last week I tried this combo with the e906 swapped for a 421 and I liked that even more for next time :)

  • @GlenKuykendall Thank you for your prompt and detailed answer. It's really helpful to know info like this when people succeed in creating a great sound.

  • Is your '59 Burst in the Beauty of the Burst book?

  • Nope but I now know some of the guys involved so maybe next time if they make another book?

  • @GlenKuykendall

Seriously, that's one of the best bursts I've ever seen, and I'm YouTube basically everyday lol

    Thanks for posting, as usual!

  • Beautiful.

  • Hi Glen, great stuff as usual. Looking forward to your new CD; will have to order some copies like last time :) Keep on Rockin´
