  • @tahirawarraich Thanks for your comment. I'm doing well.

  • brave .

  • Amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this.

  • This was very entertaining. Did it hurt before it was removed?

  • @SkullyHippie Yeah, felt like a sinus headache.

  • Were you in a lot of pain when you woke up? Did you have a massive headache?

  • @VeggieTrunks It did not feel great. Head pain was not extreme though. Heart rate was racing up and down setting off alarms. The catheter was probably the most unpleasant part!

  • stay healthy. thanks for the video

  • @Eushawn20 Will do! Thanks

  • i hope your okay now :)

  • @96yill Doing well, thanks.

  • Brain surgery...well its not exactly rocket science is it

  • @Regnet35 It is not a rocket science as it is not your brain which was drilled and cut.. You might not understand the extreme fear, anxiety , despair, doubts over operation success rate, doubts over life after the operation which come with the idea of a brain surgery. Be sensitive for others

  • What an amazing surgery, surgeon, and patient! I am SO happy everything worked out! Did they tell you if you have had that growing since birth? Also how many years were you having problem - probably from thinking back!

  • @bambis46 Thanks for your note. Yes, it was there since birth. I had what I thought were sinus headaches for about seven years before being diagnosed. You can read the whole story at my blog, link in the description.

  • THANKS a lot for sharing this!

  • i really want to be a surgeon

  • The darker red "tissue" that they are manipulating is the meninges, correct?

  • @Snakezzz In this particular video? I'm not sure, but I believe you're just seeing the brain. The bottom of the hole he's working in is right behind my nose.

  • He's Brain-Washing him xD

  • BGMがBio Hazard...雰囲気の演出が怖いわ。

  • clever song choice lol

  • my dream is to be a nurosurgeon and help people

  • Read your story on your website, I'm glad you're doing well and thanks for uploading this video. Take care Tracy

  • Definitely one of the most bravest person I've ever encountered...*cheers*

  • do you remember how long it felt like under anesthesia?*

  • @appledude2020 Hey, I don't have any memory of the memory of it. I went under, came out. The day was lost.

  • do you remember how long it felt like under anesthsia?

  • What were the symptoms before the cyst was removed? like headaches, pressure?

If you don't mind answering :D

  • @cleve101 I don't mind at all. Yes, headaches for several years. The felt like sinus and similar to how some people describe cluster headaches. I didn't always have them, but when I did they could be on and off for weeks. No other symptoms that I noticed.

As I've mentioned the whole story is at the blog link in the description.

  • @tracysigler I was wondering, where was it? It is just I had a juvenile pilocytic astrocytoma in the thalamus region.

  • @bluebig117 Hey there, this dermoid was on the left front, and the colloid cyst was in the third ventricle.

  • @tracysigler Okay thanks! Brain surgery is no fun, did he have and side effects? I got dystonia.

  • @bluebig117 I lost my sense of smell for a day or two, and I had one seizure (in my sleep) about a year later. Other than those, no problems.

  • you have a beautiful brain :)

  • I just got diagnosed with this yesterday and trying to find all the information I can before seeing the neurosurgeon Tuesday. I am so scared!

  • @mmdmdj Hey, You're going to be fine. Once you've talked with the neurosurgeon and got some questions answered I'm positive you feel better about the situation. That's how it was for me. Make sure to write down your questions in advance and get the doc to answer every one one of them. If you can, take someone with you who can take notes. My whole story is linked in the description if you're interested. And you can contact me through my site if you have any questions.

  • dude like how did they get in ther elike how its so much in there wow and umm like or you doing ok man like ouch i swear i was pluging my ears lol

  • thank you very much for sharing this video. very interesting, and im glad the surgery went well...

  • after ur removing of dermoid cyst did u feel anything bad?

  • @nasaeepandai59 Once I had fully recovered the headaches were gone, but there was some pain in getting there.

  • Remove that sucker they did...

  • ...also, thank you for putting this online!

hope youre doing well, but from the looks of it (on your blog, and even your posts here on youtube) you are!

    congratulations!

  • hi

im a 17 year old interested in becoming a neurologist/neurosurgeon, and i have a few questions

upon reading your blog i understand this was a benign dermoid cyst

    just wondering if you know

was this the only way to remove it?

it just seems like a process that is difficult because it is repetitive, tedious, and kinda sucky. i saw alot of forcep utilization that yielded little result. yenno just kind of... grab and pull, but only what was touched by the forcep was pulled out...

  • @ohaider101 These were some elite neurosurgeons in DC. They know what they're doing. In this video the cyst is already gone and he is finishing up by cauterizing some areas. The smaller cyst in the middle of my head (see other video) was removed endoscopically, no craniotomy required for that. Thanks for your note and well wishes.

  • @tracysigler he sounds fukin smart lol

  • thats what hapends when u buy justin bibers cd´s ;(

  • how did you get them to film it?? and how did you get the footage?

    how old was your surgeon?

  • @thinkfreerevolu My situation was pretty rare so they wanted to document it. I asked and they gave it to me on a disk. One surgeon was in his mid-50s, the other was much younger. See my blog for details.

  • omfg

  • really glad your better. the stuff they removed looked just like the stuff they squeeze from some skin cysts, interesting though it didnt seem to be attached anywhere just a blob of stuff. loved the way they flooded it with water in the begginning to float some stuff up and pick it out, wonder why they didnt do more of that further on?

  • oh jeez, wouldnt it be funny if the doc hit a nerve and it made you kick or twitch?? lol

  • That was interesting

  • Didn't it affect you in some way? Don't you suffer from memory loss or so?

  • @DictatorRoB I can't remember. ;) No, everything was cool. One of the docs thought I might have trouble for a few weeks, but the other doc didn't. That latter was right.

  • @tracysigler

Amazing. And how you found out you had that cyst in brain? You had headache?

  • @DictatorRoB Yep. Headaches for a long time. Finally went to the doc and got a scan.

  • @tracysigler

    How old are you?

  • oh my goddd !

  • thnx alot for uploading this... this is very useful for my future science lessons

  • Im glad ur okay! :)

  • @poly501 Thanks Paola!

  • What were your symptoms pre surgery from the cyst?

  • @IrishNickO Hey NickO, The only symptom I'm aware of was headaches. See the blog for details, but I kept thinking I had sinus headaches etc. Thanks for your comment.

  • Crazy! I really enjoyed watching this and I'm glad you'll completely healed! Cheers!

  • cottage cheese anyone?

  • Dear god...

  • Incredible experience you went through, Tracy! We're glad you're still here with us! Thank you for sharing this video!

  • Thanks Robert. I plan to be around for a while. ;)

  • And I get bent out of shape when I get big white heads under my nose- looks like I need to count my blessings!

  • THAT WAS AMAZING.

  • I know I'm a minor and probably have no idea what I'm saying, but that was the coolest stuff I've seen in weeks... I hope your better! And thanks for posting these video's, it helped a lot.

  • I'm doing great. Thanks for your note.

  • Hey i gotta ask you what happens if you didnt get that taken out

  • It took 30 something years to get that big. It would've kept growing slowly, not sure if that would've been a problem. The smaller cyst, see the endoscopic video, was the real risk. Sudden death is possible with a colloid b/c it can block the flow of fluid, and your brain swells, then you drop.

  • Oh okay, and how do you get that anywhere or your brain it doesnt matter which one you anwser

  • I think it's just the wrong type of cells in the wrong place and they continue to grow where they don't belong.

  • thanx 4 sharing

  • i dont even want to imagine what was going through your mind at the time. oh wait. i can see what was going through your mind at the time lol. on a serious note, i couldnt imagine trying to do something like that. i'll stick to vehicles lol

  • That's a good surgeon. Cysts are just onery pieces of work..its sad that they exist in nature. Glad you are better, and were able to put music to the video. Stay well!

  • Thanks gman. Yeah, the music selection Youtube offers is fantastic.

  • Glad you're better. Looked like the surgeon was very thorough.

  • Thanks Goldfinger. They were the best, for sure.

  • even as a young adolescent, i am fasinated by medical surgerys and operations and information i hope i can be a surgeon one day it would be a miracle

  • Truly fascinating - hope your ok.

  • Glad you enjoy. Yes, I'm doing great.

  • Sorry you had to go through that brother...

  • Thanks, but it wasn't that bad. Other people have had to deal with much worse.
