well I am from Olongapo and I agree for Dick Gordon's media blackout regime. Nung nagka award yung asawa niyang dating mayor na si Kate Gordon from UNESCO. There was a murder happened in the city. Dick Gordon spoke to the family to stay quiet and let not the investigation push thru so not to catch any media attention na makakasira sa UNESCO award. The murder victim's family was paid a big amount and the murder case is still unsolved today.

To add on to this, when you ask people from the candidate's hometown, make sure that person you are asking is a long time resident and/or a real resident. Some candidates use people from other places to give good comments to the candidate. Ask people on the middle class because they have a better view of the political situation in the place. A citizen needs to be investigative on a candidate especially if he is just new in the national scene. People still do not know the candidate's bad side.
We don't know if its a change for the better or a change for the worse. You should know all the sides of a candidate before you vote. Make a background check. Ask the people from the candidate's hometown.
And you will know the other side of a presidentiable. Good Side and Bad Side. A citizen might regret his vote to a politician who does show his bad side after being elected. So make a wise vote by being investigative, you might be surpirised that there are more bad sides on a candidate.

I was in the Philippines in 1972 and 1973, specifically Olongapo City. Prostitution in Olongapo City was BIG business back then. I believe that the presidential surveys SHOULD be stopped, actually. Think about it guys. How do you choose among the candidates? You must have this list of characteristics that you want to find, right?! The election isn't a popularity contest! You're not voting for a Prom King here! When you see that someone is leading you'd think "I don't want my vote to go to waste" so you change your mind and vote for the leading guy! That's just wrong! Gordon is a great choice, you'd see that if you think!

well I am from Olongapo and I agree for Dick Gordon's media blackout regime. Nung nagka award yung asawa niyang dating mayor na si Kate Gordon from UNESCO. There was a murder happened in the city. Dick Gordon spoke to the family to stay quiet and let not the investigation push thru so not to catch any media attention na makakasira sa UNESCO award. The murder victim's family was paid a big amount and the murder case is still unsolved today.

@flowerdelta,you know Olongapo is a small place where people talked.We know Dick Gordon as a person.So many diciples of Father Shay Cullen around Olongapo who likes to use a lot of tricks putting down the images of Gordon.So i think you are one of them.Dick Gordon,used money for other things not to put silenced other people.His human that you can see all his emotions even in public.But he is the only Filipino who did really a good job in helping a lot of Filipinos not even media talked about it.

I read on the news the Dick Gordon said "tang-ina" when he was distracted by the Bacolod Airport's Public Address System. And he was very angry because he was distracted and wants to scold the public address system operator. Is that the president you want to elect that is short tempered and like a dicatator? He cannot scold the PA operator because its his job to announce flight info. I advise NEVER TO VOTE DICK GORDON for president.

So, Gordon showed assertiveness, fought though lost after (erap) court order, he stepped down. What Gordon did was just being assertive, he stand for what he believe was right. People there are not paid to activate, they are motivated.

@Tirso i was assigned Central Luzon during these years, Olongapo included. I saw the transformation of SBMA during Gordon from nil to economic giant. People are behind Gordon, he prioritized giving jobs to volunteers. Mr Payumo prioritized Bataan residents by opening the Bataan gate. I am sorry but Gordon do not use money to activate he rather motivate.

Back in 1998 when Dick Gordon was removed as Chairman of SBMA, he doesn't want to go out of office knowing that he has been replaced by Payumo appointed by the newly Elected President Estrada. Outgoing President Ramos' term was only from 1992 to 1998 as with Gordon's term. Gordon literally locked himself in his office and doesn't want to go down. Is that the president you want to lead, who is always in need of power and money? He is a Dictator and Stubborn. He was charged with rebellion.

To add on to this, when you ask people from the candidate's hometown, make sure that person you are asking is a long time resident and/or a real resident. Some candidates use people from other places to give good comments to the candidate. Ask people on the middle class because they have a better view of the political situation in the place. A citizen needs to be investigative on a candidate especially if he is just new in the national scene. People still do not know the candidate's bad side.

We don't know if its a change for the better or a change for the worse. You should know all the sides of a candidate before you vote. Make a background check. Ask the people from the candidate's hometown.
And you will know the other side of a presidentiable. Good Side and Bad Side. A citizen might regret his vote to a politician who does show his bad side after being elected. So make a wise vote by being investigative, you might be surpirised that there are more bad sides on a candidate.

Just showed how Philippine politics/elitists work. When Pinatubo erupted, and the base closed, no one wants to touch Subic. Then Gordon and the SBMA volunteers turned Subic into multi-billion dollar free port, and these f***king politicians are drooling to get their hands on those billions. Look at Subic during Payumo, it became the drop off of smuggled luxury cars. Dick was removed in Subic by a president with personal issues with him. Erap was removed in power by the people. I've work for a shipbuilding company in the past and Subic Bay is a perfect place for Philippines shipbuilding industry to propel the country into a economic powerhouse that will also provide thousands of jobs for so many Filipinos.
The right president elected next year with this vision is what the country need instead of depending so much on jobs abroad. There are countries that rely economically in this lucrative business, it's something that they should look into for the future.
