"Maximum pain for the antagonist with minimum effort for the protagonists" You don't see much of that in BJJ or QJJ these days. Is there a Hakki-ryu jujutsu school in the Flint, Michigan area.
@bacurrie01 Nidai Soke Okuyama has stated that Doshin studied Hakko Ryu for about two years learning up to Nidan Gi and Koho Shiatsu Igaku. He said Doshin quit the training because he didn't like the pain involved in the Kihon training. The major cross over is in the medical side of the art. Hakko Ryu's Koho Shiatsu Igaku and Shorinji Kenpo's Seiho. Both art's unarmed technique are not so similar. However, Doshin's medical methods are deeply linked to Hakko Ryu.

Thank you for uploading this video. It shows not only the skills of your founder, but also a link to the source of many techniques found in Shorinji Kempo.
Thank you for bring this up. I neglected to tag my videos with Shorinji Kempo. The founder Doshin So was a student of Okuyama Sensei as well. It is very clear that the Seiho bodywork methods in Shorinji Kempo are deeply related to the Koho Shiatsu Igaku of Hakko Ryu as well as the methods of Jujutsu.

@MrOphachew Actually sir, this art is not so much about inflicting pain or damage as it is about control.
Pain comes if and when the antagonist resists control. "Maximum pain" usually comes if the antagonist pushes those limits, damaging himself.

I hope this video of the founder of Hakko Ryu will be received well. Comments will be moderated but are welcomed.
The founder was a brilliant martial artist who authored many works on Jujutsu, Japanese medicine, Shinto, and other related topics.
After so many years of training in Hakko Ryu it was an honor to finally get to see Shodai Soke Okuyama Sensei alive if even on video!
I hope all other practitioners of the art will feel the same way as I did when viewing this video for the first time.
