The band was using a string bass and a guitar in the rhythm section, a Swing Era instrumentation and this made their rhythm section sound strikingly more modern than other bands at the cusp of the Great Depression when this was recorded.

Not only that, this was the Casa Loma Orchestra's initial recording for Brunswick (with Henry Biagini conducting). Jack Raymond is the vocalist....

@fromthesidelines - Correction - Okeh - They didn't go to Brunswick until late 1930, early 1931 or thereabouts.
