A similar white triangular guitar pick to the one you see him holding in the first minute or so fell from his hand after dismounting from his guitar at the end of "Hound Dog", a couple of days later, where it was picked up by a fan seating closest to the stage, then sold close to thirtty years later at a charity action for a whooping US$10,000.
You have no idea how great he is, really you dont. You have no comprehension - its absolutely impossible. I cant tell you why hes so great, but he is. Hes sensational.
You are abs right sparkyssparklers. Elvis sang live at every concert, danced the way he felt from emotion. Not choreographed. Artists today couldnt wear the kings cape. He is a true entertainer. Never in our life time will we experience someone like him. Mj was close but no elvis. He lacked the depth and soul singing. Elvis was his own entity created by himself not agents.
i just love this song by elvis. and him and johnny cash was really close friends and fans of one anothers since the fifties. thats what june carter said in a interview. i miss them all. they are all rocking the heavens now . god bless elvis fans .
Does anyone know where I can find the Mystery Train/Tiger Man video someone made a little while which spliced together a bunch of video clips? I know there's lots out there but the guy did a really good job.
Regardless of Elvis' "drug" use, and subsequent death, NOTHING can take away from the fact that Elvis changed music.
Don't forget, he wasn't always "The KING", he did the hard yards too.... I honestly don't care what people think of him personally, as an artist, there is NO COMPARISON.
He is the one and ONLY King! He had the lot, looks, a fantastic voice, and was an excellent showman and performer. No-one can take that away from him. Right til the end, he was giving of himself for his fans.
@SparkysSparklers I have to agree.I love a lot of music from Foreigner,Meat Loaf,Neil Diamond,The Band,Rush,Cream,The Beatles.I dont just listen to Elvis, but when he was on form in the early 70s I don't think there is another artist that can touch him.Nobody looked as good, nobody moved as good and nobody sounded better, when he was at the top of his game.Shows that come to mind include the '68 tv special, anything from 1970,Madison Square Garden,Memphis in'74(this show is unbelievable, vocally).
I don't know about the Rolling stone top 500. But this is at the International Hotel in Los Vegas 1070. ELvis is one of the finest men to walk the earth. He also is the best entertainer of all time. There will never be anyone better than him. Thankyou for posting it.
Wow,unbelievable.Elvis and the band truly on top of their game. Can't think of any other artist who could perform like that.Listen to any body else's version of that and it sounds as bland as hell compared to this.
Just saw your comment....Ronnie Tutt is the man. I would say he doesn't get enough credit. But then again...Can you feel sorry for the guy that played drums for Elvis "the King"?..... Could you imagine?.................
5 star an amzing video from an amzing show! anymore???? plz upload! yove lost that lovin feelin, love me tender, bridge? anything from 8/10/70! plz upload! thnx lov ur vid! out of this world! just like the king!
speaking of "kings", James Burton is indisputedly the king of chicken-pickin` rockabilly guitar. Elvis himself personally called James on the phone in 1969 and asked him to put together a band for Elvis` comeback to live shows."Play it,James!"
which concert was this from? i have the audio for this in my iTunes and would like more info ont it. thanks
