Thank you so much for posting the song of my childhood! My mom used to play this and Al Green almost everyday while we cooked and cleaned the house! I have the 45RPM record in my closet without a record player and I often recall the soulful story of this Mans Love for his Woman -Charles Brimmer laid it down I actually like his version because of his subliminal scratchy tones!

I love both of the versions of this song, but this version reminds me of a beautiful love for a person I knew.

We don't need words, this song was telling us enough. But unfortunally it was not possible to stay together.

But he's in my heart forever, this song will always remind me of the love we had.

I only discovered this song recently and it hit the the spot straight away. It makes me want to cry everytime I hear it because the words are so true and beautifully sung. Its amazing, I wish I had found this song before my wedding in 2006. We would have used it during the ceremony.

They don't make this kind of soulful music anymore, and it's really sad. Lord knows I'd never heard this before, but so glad I found it here! Saw that it was originally released in 1975 on the Chelsea label (peaking at #43 on Billboard's Black Singles charts), and reappeared on the charts in 1977. The words he's singing are so very, very true, even today.
