I really love BodyCombat, if i can remember this is the cooling down of release 25. This cooling down is the best one i ever did in the history of BodyCombat!!
i moved away from the place i did all this about 5 months ago..and right now i've been most nostalgic since i came back..so i decided to just watch something to remind me of the great time i spent there...
@prebirth91 I think EVERYONE who does Body Combat realises that they aren't doing MT or boxing. It's a martial arts-BASED fitness work-out. What is so hard to fathom about this?
The wraps are purely decorational....but they help get into the spirit of the class. Happy?
Great video!. I'm a Les Mills istructor and I'm trained in mixed martial arts as well. This is one of my favorite programs!!!. Sorry for those brainless people who talk but they don't know what they're talking about. Body Combat is a fitness program just created to have a great taste of mixed martial arts and fun while working out without becoming a fighter and get beaten up everytime. Also helps not only physically, it helps in an emotional way too. So GO COMBAT!!!!!!!!!!!
Rachael is amazing and "So What!" is the best Muay Thai track they ever choreographed. In fact it's the best Combat track period. Thanks for including it.
That "martial arts" bit was almost somewhat offensive. I hope you yourself as an instructor have no illusions of what body combat really is, for your sake and that of your class
Offensive? Wow, you really have too much time on your hands. The class is influenced by martial arts. It isn't martial arts in reality which I know more than well as I've practiced ashihara karate for more than 15 years.
I didn't want to seem too aggressive, I'm sorry. And it comforts me that you do know what you're talking about, even if ashihara is more a competitive martial art than a traditional one.
anyway, you are not based in martial arts, since the martial art include the phylosophy of those; you are just based in the movement of the hits of some martial arts (and I do think it's offensive that you say you make some base in some moves ofkung fu). You sold your karate... and I don`t think you really know how to do real tai chi... I don'tt want to seem aggresive either... but I feel body combat as an insult to martial arts...
@Prtyjedi, i have been doing body combat for over three years now, and i certainly hold no illusions of being a martial artist. its just part of the whole fun part of it. people who think they are karate/ taekwondo expert after several classes of body combat, certainly needs either a check up from the neck up or a swift kick on the noggin.
It´s just amazin I LOVE BODY COMBAT, the energy, the fitness but above them all. . . the fun!!! Nice video btw and could you help me with something? what are the songs you used in this video, because i love track at 1:56 thanks ^_^
there is no doubt body combat is the best class ever. Ive been doing it since BC 32 now im on BC 40. Ha ha ha, Please explain the amazing concept. No one in the fucking world can master all the moves of marshal arts. they r simply steeling from Marshal arts to make money
I'll say it again; you don't grasp what a group fitness class is. Is it a martial arts class? No. Is it a group fitness class inspired by martial arts techniques? Yes.
It's about fitness, not martial arts; there's a distinct difference between the two. But you appear to narrow-minded to understand what I'm saying.
And also, you might learn to spell correctly. It's MARTIAL, not "marshal" as that is a police officer.
Sorry for the spelling mistakes may be i should take English classes put lets keep it in the subject.
Why to learn the martial arts moves in a wrong way and brag about it. ok, how about creating a sports moves classes or cooking moves classes. All what i am saying they r not creative and followers and not leaders
Yes, why should you let people get fit, reduce risks for health diseases and disorders and have heaps of fun while doing it? This class motivates more than 100.000 people each week, and the ones choreographing it are true leaders and role models when it comes to areas such as creativity, inspiration and motivation. I'd like to see you take on Mr Cohen yourself..
Can't you get it into that apparently thick head of yours that the class isn't about technique? It's about FITNESS! About having fun.
There are over a 1000 ways to get fit, no need to be a sheep or a donkey who follows whom ever trying to cheat them. Please use ur brains and dont put them aside
You are one of the most narrow-minded individuals I've ever come across. Do you have a problem with people enjoying a certain fitness class even though it's not to your liking or are you merely enjoying acting like an ass?
I figured someone at the respectable age of 39 to be more grown up as your behavior in writing come across as pitiful and childish.
Apparently not, however.
Go bug someone else, I have more pressing matters to attend to. Like life.
As a die-hard BC fan, I totally agree with you about mixing FITNESS & FUN into BC. However, I will have to disagree with you that it's not about technique. Cos it actually is.
I've lost track of the number of times the BC instructors remind us abt hooking/punching/kicking the right way to ensure the right muscle group is being worked out AND also to avoid unnecessary injury. It is true that wrong techniques can lead to injury.
So, IMHO, technique is as important as having fun at BC.
It is a concept like this that enables most individuals with no passion a start, and an evergrowing interest to lose weight gain fitness or make freinds.
For me, I already have trained in several martial arts, currently training in kickboxing and am just starting Kung Fu for the techniques of learning speed punching and blocking.
Combat provides interests for me because I maintain flexibility, I use speed, add combinations on top of the set format and maintain tae knees wherever pos.
you're a f*cking xenophobic did u know that? EVERYONE has the right to speak ANY LANGUAGE he/she wants. you should feel yourself flattered that a foreigner actually sees & comments your video.
You're kinda missing the point here, English isn't my native tongue either. To call me xenophobic is as far from the truth as it goes, but I guess it's easier to say so than being constructive. Do however explain to me why a certain someone would write something to another someone in a language he or she doesn't understand? Sort of gives the words "lost in translation" a whole new meaning, doesn't it? It says in the video title text, comments not in english is deleted. Hard to follow? Think not.
The core of the issue still remains; I can't possibly comprehend what an individual is trying to say in a language that I don't understand. For all I know he could have said something of the complete opposite, I'd still be clueless. If you want to say ANYTHING to someone, whether good or bad, make bloody sure they understand it. That's the point. The only point. Nothing else.
absoloutely fab you are a true combatter i've been teaching since combat 17 and am in love with it still and always passionate and excited. combat has changed my life and all my participants and anyone who compares it to tai bo needs slappin lol !!!!
Oh get over yourself. So you think BC in 2008 is trying to copy something developed 19 years ago in 1989? Sorry but that's just stupid. BC stands on its own merits and hardly looks to history for development. I don't see something as old as Tae Bo incorporate martial arts disciplines like Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Capoeira, Karate, Muay Thai etc in its routines.
Seriously, if one more individual comments in a language that is not understandable by the author (me!) then don't comment at all! It pisses me off!! Is it so hard to look/figure out if the author speaks the language you comment in? I think not!
I also love BC but I must say I was a little disapointed because you didn't used any of the oldest songs. MIX 25 is the oldest you have here. All the Body Combat classics are from BC11, 07, 13, so on. If you'd like I have some videos from these old classes. They are much better then this new ones.
But I really liked the video. And I'm sorry for the grammar mistakes. I'm still learning English. =P
All the songs are listed at the end of the clip (as mentioned in my last reply below). The two songs with a girl singing is Save Your Life (remix of Van Halens 'ain't talkin' 'bout love') and the other one is Shooting Star by ColorBox.
I started taking BodyCombat classes at our local gyms [GoodLife Fitness] and I love it. It's a really good workout and I find lots of energy and strength, physical and mental from this class. I recommend it a lot.
I practiced Karate myself for several years (Ashihara) and that was a very good one. I think most of them are good though, my guess is that it's more down to the style you prefer yourself. Taekwondo or kung-fu, karate or ju-jutsu, capoeira or muay thai - it all comes down to what you want to learn and for what purpose you want to learn it. A good intention is the best guide.
It stays the best beautifull tribute to BodyCombat:) I see it time to time :) BodyCombat is the best!
Btw: visitors from the bodycombat global site, love the BC tribute video from you :D! Soon I launch an whole new english section (global), i'm working on it:). I'll keep you posted, okay?:).
Keep It Real And Stay With The Fight :D!
Best regards, Bas from The Netherlands!
PS: coming this saturday we get the new release from BodyCombat 35:D!I cant wait!!:)
WOAH~~~, your words in the video made me wanna attend the class now, I've only attended 1 class before and I felt that I cant do it anymore, but after watching this video I'll "FOR SURE" go to attend the class tomorrow~!
if I have any question after attending tomorrow's class, I'll ask, and I hope to got an answer ^_^
This is super cool workout. I have been attending the class for almost 2 months and still enjoy it very much. I still can't do all the moves but thanks to Fredrik's encouragement, I've sticked on to it and am slightly better now :). Just go and have fun!!!
Hey Fredrik, ur the best and btw, my side kicks are still lousy... hehehe :)
This is a great material! I used to practice it and i took the qualification modules to give the class but after short time had to move to an other city and here aren't none of those clases, no gyms with license!! I really miss this!!
The thing with sidekicks, any kicks for that matter, is to really step in with your heel in the direction of the kick. Then, with your kick leg, bring it up towards your chest - meaning that you point with your butt and then extend the leg, imagining the outer part of your foot as the strike surface. Really lean the upper body back so you maintain balance.
i found out abt this workout when I joined my gym recently. I love it but being super unfit and heavy,I feel like dying 15min into the workout and I can't seems to be able to do all the moves! Am so embarrassed... I still like it very much tho. Sigh :*((
Hey, don't beat yourself up. You know, everyone starts at some point and staying with it, just staying with any kind of workout, gets easier as time progresses. I'm confident you'll do absolutely fine! :)
you're super sweet, thanks for the encouragement. I'm going again this Saturday, am just going to try and try again. I feel giddy after the session tho and some bowel movement - is that ok?
That you're feeling giddy is probably because of two reasons; 1) A new workout is always unfamiliar and takes time getting used to, thus being harder, and 2) work through the levels of the workout, start out easy and then progress to higher intensity. Feeling giddy is probably because you worked a little too hard. ;) Good luck!
The specific mixes available on the BC releases are licensed only for those, but most songs are still able to be found even though they may not perhaps be 100% identical. That said, the songs are the following:
Black Spider - Save Your Life! (Warp Brothers Radio Edit)
Oh legend would perhaps be pushing the envelope a little! *laughing*
However, I'm glad you like the movie (I have more projects up my sleeve...)! Do you instruct BC or participating? I'm an instructor myself (BC and more).
I'm also an Great bodycombat fan! I'll do bodycombat four years.. :D
And I have also creating a website about BodyCombat, on 1 january 2008 I relaunch a whole new site more international. I come from the netherlands, so its no only in Dutch, not in English. Version 4 shall be english and dutch:D
I really love BodyCombat, if i can remember this is the cooling down of release 25. This cooling down is the best one i ever did in the history of BodyCombat!!

Love the vid.

Which martial art would you say is the best for total focus of the mind?
hsellers1234 3 years ago
I practiced Karate myself for several years (Ashihara) and that was a very good one. I think most of them are good though, my guess is that it's more down to the style you prefer yourself. Taekwondo or kung-fu, karate or ju-jutsu, capoeira or muay thai - it all comes down to what you want to learn and for what purpose you want to learn it. A good intention is the best guide.

frkstg01 3 years ago
This is super cool workout. I have been attending the class for almost 2 months and still enjoy it very much. I still can't do all the moves but thanks to Fredrik's encouragement, I've sticked on to it and am slightly better now :). Just go and have fun!!!
Hey Fredrik, ur the best and btw, my side kicks are still lousy... hehehe :)
joan05250 3 years ago
This is a great material! I used to practice it and i took the qualification modules to give the class but after short time had to move to an other city and here aren't none of those clases, no gyms with license!! I really miss this!!
quepata83 4 years ago
Sorry to hear that. I can't imagine what I'd be doing if I didn't have BC to teach. Oh the horror...
Thanks for your positive comments on the movie clip though! :)

Hi frkstg01, cld u give me some tips on how to improve my side kicks? They are hopeless!! I just can't get it right and high enough! Thks.
joan05250 4 years ago
The thing with sidekicks, any kicks for that matter, is to really step in with your heel in the direction of the kick. Then, with your kick leg, bring it up towards your chest - meaning that you point with your butt and then extend the leg, imagining the outer part of your foot as the strike surface. Really lean the upper body back so you maintain balance.

Many thanks!

i found out abt this workout when I joined my gym recently. I love it but being super unfit and heavy,I feel like dying 15min into the workout and I can't seems to be able to do all the moves! Am so embarrassed... I still like it very much tho. Sigh :*((
joan05250 4 years ago
Hey, don't beat yourself up. You know, everyone starts at some point and staying with it, just staying with any kind of workout, gets easier as time progresses. I'm confident you'll do absolutely fine! :)
frkstg01 4 years ago
you're super sweet, thanks for the encouragement. I'm going again this Saturday, am just going to try and try again. I feel giddy after the session tho and some bowel movement - is that ok?
joan05250 4 years ago
That you're feeling giddy is probably because of two reasons; 1) A new workout is always unfamiliar and takes time getting used to, thus being harder, and 2) work through the levels of the workout, start out easy and then progress to higher intensity. Feeling giddy is probably because you worked a little too hard. ;) Good luck!

Briony6981 4 years ago
The specific mixes available on the BC releases are licensed only for those, but most songs are still able to be found even though they may not perhaps be 100% identical. That said, the songs are the following:
Black Spider - Save Your Life! (Warp Brothers Radio Edit)
Colorbox - Shooting Star
frkstg01 4 years ago
