  • "....you've just shot one of your own aircraft down..." O-O

OOPS, oh dear, but never mind. Anyway, back to to base for a fried kipper for breakfast. : )

  • frantically tapping..... at +, -, directional arrows... and ENTER ENTER ENTER down they go!

  • @He101A My first PC, an Olvetti 386, came with Knights of the Sky. Loaded it on my next PC, an 80486 Gateway, and it worked much better - on the 386 Olvetti, when firing, things would s l o w d .. o ...w .... n.....

  • Still got this on my verry old first PC, and even got the old cds for it to load. SPAD 13 was the boy. Always knocked out the Red Baron with that when challenged, and his multi-coloured mates.

  • I Loved this game so much

  • best game ever

  • Is there anything like this available today on PC?

  • @Hyperplaterine Try "Rise of Flight"

  • Whoa, the Amiga version looks and sounds better than the DOS version I used to have. To think I had the inferior product all these years...

Oh well, I still had lots of fun playing it regardless.

  • We used to have this game for PC. It was one of my older brother's favorites. We had a 10 mhz 286 (640 kb RAM) at that time and it ran reasonably well on it.

  • Oh the stalling!!! always stalling trying to clime up to get to those enemies. :)

  • I loved this game i played it to death on my A1200. i remember i got a demo on the front og amiga Pwer or summit then i went out and bought it.

After my Amiga went i got a naff PC and then Aces over Europe became my fav flight sim :)

  • MEMORIES!

    Oh the memories...

  • lol. this game was brilliant. long live the amiga.

  • My favourite flight sim on the A500. Literally spent months of my life playing it!

  • I spent many many hours playing this.

  • before that plane start animation, guru meditation error pops up on me very often so when i was able to watch that intro i was very happy kid.

    cheers.

  • Besides "Wings", Knights of the Sky is my favorite ww1 flysim :)

  • No modern game seems to have the charm and infinite replayablitiy of these games anymore :-(... too busy making the graphics stand out and making the stories too linear... the only exception is bethesda who can make amazing graphics AND cram 100s of hours of play into a game

  • @leedsm18 I agree.

I remember fondly playing these old Amiga games like this and Wings. There was something in their simplicity and yet they were somehow interesting. You'd play them for an hour or two but you'd do that every day for weeks.

I'm too old for computer games now, but from what I've seen of what's out now they seem to take forever to get anywhere and they don't seem as interesting.

If they remade these old games with the same format but modern graphics I wonder...

  • i always found it fun flying around, taking off and landing without actually shooting anything, sad but true!!

  • I tried to fly to England once....you just hit the edge of the map and that was it! I was so dissappointed...I wanted to bomb London bridge ;op

  • Top game. Brought this part of history to life as well as being kick ass!!

  • My favorite flight simulator of the Amiga.

  • I cant tell you how many hours I spent playing this game. Absolutely brilliant.

  • playing games like these i wandered what life would be like now i watch them on you tube remember what life was like

  • Anyone ever manage to get a multiplayer

session going with KOTS back then?

When this game appeared all you had were

    mediums like modem-to-modem and null-serial

    cable link.

  • I tried it once with a null-serial link. My Amiga was a 1200, while my friend's was an A600.

The game was a lot of fun, but the framerate was pretty poor, being slower than an unlinked 600.

  • Oh man good times. I remember being able to challenge other aces to combat, that "fight or buy war bonds" screen when you get shot down. Haha. I even still have the box (PC version).

  • RIP, Microprose.

    Burn in hell, Hasbro.

  • LOL!

  • Hi, PLEASE can you tell me how to get the throttle up and down? i dont know the button for it. i can turn the engine on and everything else etc.

  • From what I remember, to increase the throttle on the keyboard, it was the plus "+" key and to decrease, the minus "-" key.

  • thx for that!

  • ahh ah nostaljij game and arcade fly
