Glad to read the puppy was unharmed. I once saw a 20+ pound Manx tomcat apply a bite to the throat like that on a little five or six pound chihuahua, and pierce the skin. It looked like a lion on a young gazelle, or (since it was a Manx) a bobcat on a weasle. The dog lived, but only because a human intervened and rescued him.
