Well Google is trying to differentiate themselves from Facebook by making it mandatory to put your real name. It's not a bad idea because it makes it unique and this might be a good way to flank the social networking market. It may actually work but you are right that it does them a disservice by not playing by the rules. In my opinion they will correct this soon

There are too many people with pseudonyms. Google has to eventually allow pseudonyms.

For example, Shay Carl from the Shaytards. His last name isn't Carl. Carl is his middle name. He is known as Shay Carl. What if his wife wanted a Google Plus profile? She goes by katilette and mommytard. There would be many YouTubers with suspended accounts.

The first part of this video demonstrates EXACTLY what caused the downfall of Yahoo. When yahoo launched "Y! Answers" people were getting suspended left and right for wrong answers or answers that didn't follow a certain ideology, etc. The problem is that the suspension was across ALL yahoo products including MAIL, AND the suspension was permanent and forever even if you used the email for your thriving business. Shortly after yahoo experienced a mass exodus. I predict the same for Google.

Then they suspended my account because of some answers I left and I had to leave forever. Remember the Yahoo Message Boards? That was what Answers replaced. I liked the MB better. I know you have no desires to have Google Plus but have you tried to reinstate your Google Plus profile? Maybe the system made a mistake and need a human to review your account. Someone mentioned that Philip Defranco, Kassem G, and the Fine Brothers have a profile but they haven't suspended them. Maybe it is because they are YouTube Partners and their identity is known through forms they have filled out to be able to receive payments from Google.
