  • The view count's broken. It's only showing my views.

  • I like how there's no real identification of the killer. Deep stuff.

  • Anyone notice how the singer's tie color changes scene-to-scene? Although that would suggest each member of the band singing different lines, it all sounds like Andrew to me.

  • ...that...didn't end how I thought it would.

  • LOVE the reaching for the briefcase. Love.

  • well...how could anyone not like this

  • I love Tally Hall so hard...

  • Anyone else notice it says "SRCEWS" at the beginning?

  • @1WEareBUFO1 I thought it was about how the best people tend to be assassinated like jfk or abe lincoln

  • @corneliousvanderboot thank you im pretty sure thats it. both people, by the way, also thought there were others more qualified, but they set their hearts on the goal once they knew...

  • @1WEareBUFO1 no, its about the erratic behaviors people choose on their own consent when they decide they're better than other people

  • ahhhh democracy....

  • When I was going through the lyrics, I thought that "stories" was spelt wrong. When I heard him singing "sotries" in the song I realized that Tally Hall was the best band ever.

  • I love Andrew's voice and I love his songwriting even more.

  • too short

  • 1:05

  • @anormaldude70 Holy frigging wadsworth.

  • <3 My friend sent me this over facebook it made me smile

  • my cosin is a close frend from hs

  • I need the sheet music for this! I'd just love to play the tuba part!

  • this made my dick longer. its a sign

you need to make this song longer

  • SOTRY

  • Oh I think I got it now. He just goes on about how no one is better than anyone just so he can get votes and clearly "be" better than the rest of the people. So hes just a politician lying his way to the top. Is that it?

  • @lip58 i thought he was sayin it like 'I'd rather have no-one than you', maybe it just means all of the interpretations or none of them.

  • I just dont really get what they want to say with this song. Is he pretending that he understands and cares so he can stays in the control?

  • I still get very nervous toward the ending even though I know nothing's real...

  • This has GOT to be one of the most sarcastic songs ever.

  • Seven people think they're better than you.

  • 7 people think they're better than you.

  • i love his voice, it's amazing. this video always makes me happy. makes me feel like a little kid (: <3

  • this is awesome, can i get it from somewhere mr. tallyhall?

or is it on a cd of you?

  • :) I love all of your alls music videos.

  • thumbs up if u want that box and when u crank it it plays the song so u can listen to it and watch it every morning

  • @Cobainfreak18 Just make sure to avoid the sniper's gunshots at the end!

  • the puppet in the begining, with the mustachemreminds me of the mayor of townsville

  • If you look at the spread of the bullets and shrink it down to puppet size one of those shots had to miss

  • this video is genial and this voice is amazing:))

  • I love Tally Hall, and this is definitely my favorite song.

There's so many interpretations of this song, I don't think you can just stick one meaning to it.

I like their songs for that reason, above all. The lyrics work where they need to work.(:

  • This is the best Tally Hall video yet!

  • you just have to love tally hall, they are so creative. the book this lullaby has a band called truth squad and in my mind they are tally hall

  • wow I just realised this song (with the video) has three meanings.

The straightforeward, feel good, you're a great person message

The sort of mocking tone, which is only noticed if you precede the 'no-one's better than you' with 'given the choice between you and no-one'

And the message the video gives of a man telling the public they're better than 'kings in distant cities' ,so sort of promoting left-wing politics, and then getting shot for it.

correct me if I'm wrong there.

  • @qpwo6 im not going to correct you, but youre a fuckin nerd

  • @superbadlucre thanks :) i've never been called a nerd before.

  • @superbadlucre That implies intelligence. He's just another bullshit guy who fuels his sense of sophistication by posting his pretentious interpretations on YouTube videos.

  • @Fuhgl why is it pretentious? i was just saying what I thought about it. darn, you can't even talk in good sentences anymore without sounding pretentious.

  • @qpwo6 Or the obvious one, that he's a Kenedy like dude guy, he worked for the benefit of the people, then got assassinated... woah suck it bitch

  • @Rbliv

I said something similar, earlier..... Great minds think alike, eh? :D

It really is sad that people get killed for encouraging people to rule themselves, though. I think thats what the "no one is better than you" is supposed to mean. No one is better than you when it comes to making decisions for yourself. You shouldn't have people make decisions for you.

  • I think this is talking about how anyone who will publicly tell the public that they should be running the show, and then run on the policy that the people should be in power, is going to get shot.

  • why did they kill andrew?

  • the theme is jealousy... I'll let you figure out the rest.

  • @letsdeuxthis his tie changes color to red so you cant really say they killed andrew

  • @APmoviez Other than the fact he says: without further ado, I give you mister Andrew Showtree. Or whatever, even though his real last name is Horowitz.

  • @APmoviez and yellow, and gray, and blue.

  • Comment removed

  • @letsdeuxthis Because killing Russ has been done to death.

  • i don't get it...

  • Andrew has the cutest singing voice ever, haha.

  • I love that Ross's "Sotry" is wearing a bowtie and is drinking in this video.

  • Their videos are so original. 5/5

  • The puppet singing has a green tie, so of course it's Andrew singing the song. They like attention to detail do Tally Hall.

  • @finctank the tie color changes several times br0

  • @Brooshuhlicious those are just the other members of the band. The singer is definitely Andrew because he gets the credit for singing the song and I went to a live concert and he was the one singing.

  • His voice is the most recognizable too!

  • Comment removed

  • @finctank It switches! It has every Tally Hall member in it. :P

  • @FavouriteLooseCannon fair enough

  • @finctank Well the puppet does change the collor of the tie. But yeah, we get the point xDD

  • @finctank true plus the announcer says it. lol :D

  • Comment removed

  • @finctank During the interview it's yellow and at the shooting it's red

  • @finctank actually the puppet changes ties... the first tie though was green so... jsut pointing it out.

  • @3213Jonathan ok ok I know! Lots of people have pointed that out, thanks. I meant the first puppet singing has a green tie. I promise I will never be wrong on the internet again! :)

  • @finctank sorry -_- i didnt know lol

  • this is great. I can't stop smiling when I watch this video :)

  • i love this song =D! i sing it all the time!

  • Is it Andrew singing? I can't tell.

He has a nice voice if so. Or whoever.

  • Mhm, it's Andrew.

  • @crazyanimeidiototaku Ah, thank you. I was driving myself nuts tring to figure it out. I know it seems like a trivial thing but once I get the scent of mystery it's like 'this is the most important thing I have ever wondered and MUST BE ANSWERED'.

    But yes. Nice voice.

  • LOL you're welcome. Anyway, yes he has a very nice voice. I think it's adorable.

  • Such a cool look to this video. Great job!

  • ZOMG OBAMA'S A WOODEN MUPPET

  • no no no silly! Obama isn't cool enough to be in a video this amazing =).

  • tru tru

  • This is incredible!

  • i just like the horns

  • hvala Milose!

    :)

  • That was great! =D

  • Very nice and brilliant!

  • this is awesome!

  • Did... Did Andrew shoot Joe?

  • All of their music videos took incredible creativity, talent, and patience to make. They are such an impressive and brilliant bunch!

  • these guys are immensely talented. I just go crazy over this rehashed, vintage music stuff and didn't know there was a band out there who did it!

  • Haha, aw. I love this and I officially adore you, Tally Hall. Such an epic, short and sweet song.

  • Thanks for sharing this with me Ty, I really like it..

    me

  • lol his tie keeps changing to the colors the band wears, i just noticed that

  • you guys see the ruler of everything, that was strange yet sorta interesting and cool

  • I believe Tally Hall defines themselves as "wonky rock", as from Wikipedia :) But can't we just agree to disagree. I don't like some music, you don't like some. Life goes on :)

  • i love his voice, its so innocent and childlike!

  • This sounds like acombination of Sleigh Ride and Yoshi islands athletic theme but much more awesum X)

  • I love this song. It is SO catchy and it makes me feel good. I imagine this song ending a movie.

  • well... whole discussion out there :D

but... whats up with the shots in the final part of the video?

  • o.o

Did you notice how the person was paintin a gun? XD And then he gave it to one of the dolls, and he shot the "president". The two holes in the box at the end o the video were from the bullets fired at the "president". Kinda sad, but the over all video is good. :3

I hope I answered your question.

  • Andrew, the president, was assassinated. Right before, you see someone aiming a gun at him.

  • I like this video, pretty funny

  • Just let people like the music they like. Why does it matter?

artisticqt24 was the only person who said anything bad to you. No one else complained or said this isn't pop music, we were just pointing out that you were exaggerating and kind of acting like a jerk toward Tally Hall fans. We're not all trying to be pretentious and artsy. Sure, some are, but not all. Most of us just recognize that they are talented musicians and like to listen.

  • every1s different in there own way some like rap, some dont, some like pop, some dont, i dont think that just because i listen to one band, that makes me inferior to everyone else, i just know im different because i like that certain band, im still equal to them, but i just have different tastes

  • so... is the music YOU listen to unique and independent?

  • Thats crazy. I have a band, too, and we hang out with a lot of great bands from Rhode Island that also aren't good enough to sign with any labels. I feel you on that one, dude.

  • what does the singer mean by sotry?

is that like a code for story?

  • the announcer guy in the beginning says the speaker is called "Andrew Sotry" 1:02

  • It was a typo in the lyrics that they decided to keep.

  • All catchy pop songs should be this length.

  • yeah cuz pop songs really use alot of trumpets and pianos...

OH YEAH, and a TUBA fuck off

  • I think the main difference between them and much music on the radio, is these fellows show their musical range. But artisticqt never said that the band is a "revolutionary counter-culture art band ". You're putting words into his mouth.

Besides, pop music comes from popular music. Tally Hall can't really be considered that, yet.

  • Yes, I was exaggerating for comic effect, but you went ahead and over-explained it anyway, captain hero.

  • It's only comic effect if it's funny. So in this case, that doesn't apply.

  • It seems to me that you're the "pretentous douchebag" here. Songs don't have to be radical and counterculture to mean something to somebody. Sometimes it's the catchy songs with nonsense lyrics that mean the most... Songs shouldn't have to shock to get attention, because they should be good on their own. So please stop acting like a jerk who thinks that music with a wide appeal can't be meaningful and unique. As long as Tally Hall keeps writing the music they love, they're something special.

  • Eh, I give you a 4/10. Putting words in people's mouths, throwing lame insults; you're not a terribly good troll, but you trolled some people nonetheless.

Try harder next time, and maybe then you won't fail as hard at trolling. Practice, practice, practice!

  • I have loved this song since it was posted on here. Now I just heard it in a Crayola commercial... glad someone somewhere liked it enough to pitch it for a campaign! Tally Hall is great and so are those who work on their videos

  • I'm in love with Tally Hall

  • Ah. So this is what it was about.

  • This video has really changed the way I precived this song

  • AW! =]

  • awesome. odd video but the song makes my day 100% better

  • so cute! I love them. They never stop charming me! Well done Tally Hall

  • it sounds like the bear necessities from jungle book

  • He wears everyones tie colour except Ross's grey one.

  • He wears a grey bowtie :)

  • True but its just not the same lol

  • tally hall is very imaginative with their videos, which is something necessary today, but they seem to have strayed slightly from their early works, like in their AlbinoBlackSheep days. they were so fun to watch, but its just tally hall to want to do what you want, so even by trying something new and different, they still remain true to themselves, which is also good to keep their fanbase. Good job guys, and i am proud of what you have accomplished. Keep up the good work!

  • Strayed? In what ways? Tally Hall has always kind of bordered the line between disturbing and cute. *crosses eyes*

  • I loved it! :)

  • i think they missed

  • Andrew's songs are just so cute.

  • Don't forget to give them financial support, BUY THEIR ALBUM

  • creepy.

i think tim burton should make a music video for tally hall.

    (wouldn't that be A-MAZE-ING!?!?!?)

  • all the cartoon videos they make have a terrible ending

  • did you just murder joe?! :'(

i love those puppets too though, very awesome.

  • Actually, if you listen to the beginning, it say's it's Andrew.

  • And he is wearing a green tie, which is Andrew's tie.

  • this video is friggin incredibleeeeee =D <3
