  • where is the concert on 0:16???

  • I always wondered what would happen if someone could send himback in time with this song and have him perform at Woodstock!

  • get ready for 1:55, your blessed to hear it

  • sux and i actually loled at the featheres the noob has hanging from his guitar.

  • LETS SEE HENDRIX DO THAT

  • True, many claim hendrix to be the best guitarist of all time. He may be one of the most innovative, but he doesn't come clooooooooose to many of the known guitarist today when it comes to technique.

when it comes to playing with soul, that's open for discussion.

  • wtf morons... didn't you notice that hendrix invented this? before him, guitar was pretty much a backing instrument

  • @muzapstar Django Reinhardt, Les Paul. that should get you started.

  • Paul Gilbert taught "buckethead"

  • witch paul is better or do u like better young or old? but there both awsome

  • i prefered young paul ,less pentatonic and waaaay more speed picking minor licks!!

  • old. same guy more experience if you ask me.

  • 1:55 beginning to the greatest moment of your life...

  • como se llama la cancion?

  • Technical difficulties, de su ex banda Racer X.

  • Metal Dog....pero es muy semblante de Technical Difficulties...

  • si come dici te...javiersoler666...patpat...

  • he make me cry...he is GOD...

  • patetic fool bad dead youuu you

  • simply perfect

  • ROCKING!!

  • definitely god.

  • PAUL GILBERT IS GOD

  • eddie van halen uses a drill for the intro to Poundcake.

  • the reason why buckethead's right hand technique is similar to paul gilbert is coz..

PG taught him..and well..his good student to follow his teacher :)

  • Also, (and maybe more appropriately) good technique is going to look similar. There is a certain economy of motion, that is necessary to playing more complex licks like Bucket and Paul play. My hand looks similar when I do that stuff too.

  • also they both have really long fingers.

  • bucketdude may bow for gilbert.Gilbert is supreme hes right up there with becker.

  • why the hell does buckethead have to be so damn mysterious

  • There's theories that he's actually autistic and looks like the elephant. lol I think it's simply a case of good marketing, and still wanting some privacy in his personal life.

  • i heard Ozzy say in an interview he auditioned the Buckethead and afterwards asked him to take his mask off so he could see who he was and talk to him, and he refused. Ozzy said damn fine guitar player but freaking weird ,.and decided against him.

  • Yeah. I heard that, too. Can't say I blame Ozzy for going another direction, in that case. I appreciate Bucket's right to privacy, but he has to expect that sort of reaction from certain people when he's looking for a job.

  • I agree. But I bet you Les Claypool knows who he is.

  • Why would Les know?

  • B/c Les claypool is way cooler than Ozzy. and they did an album together..so i'm assuming Buck takes his mask off in the studio. lol

  • yea u know someone's a lttle out of it when ozzy osbourne the guy that ate nikki sixxx's piss and snorted a line of ants tells u hes crazy ha but bucket really is an intense player but i dont think he matches up to paul but then again paul is a god so if hes your only competition then your doing pretty good haha

  • you know, i've read that paul said that he taught buckethead. i still don't know if i believe him though. they are from the same town, their right hand techniques are almost identical, they're about the same height (between 6' 4" and 6' 6"), they were born the same fucking year. even if they aren't the same person... jesus fucking christ.

  • Bucket head´s real name is Brian Carroll and last time i cheacked Paul Gilberts name is erm lets see.... o yeah! Paul Gilbert!

  • he did brian carroll(aka buckethead) went to GIT where paul was an instructor

  • I'm currently looking at colleges, do you know anything about GIT?

  • ive seen a photo of bucket head / brian carrol without the bucket, belive me, its not paul!

  • why is there a comment battle about paul and buckethead pauls obviously better since he taught buckethead or is that a simple fact that someone just forgot

  • just because somebody taught you doesn't mean they're always going to be better than you no matter how long you play

I still think paul is waaaay better though, he doesn't need to hide his disfiguring features inside a chicken bucket

  • good point

  • i don't agree one bit, but i don't think joe is better either

  • bastante bueno el tipo este...toca finisimo!

  • this guys awesome

  • 0:33 changed my life

  • He looks like Stevie Ray Vaughan!

  • I seriously doubt Paul Gilbert would say "Fuck the united kingdom" in someone elses profile. Your just a sad immitator

  • wot a legend

    =)

  • What a great player and nice arrangement! Paul just keeps getting better.

  • hey that guy that says that Yngwie and Batio play faster than Paul you say that because you haven`t seen videos of Paul playing for Racer X in the 80`s. Besides Paul is prooved to be one of the 4 guitar players that reach the 18 notes in a second. The other three are Batio, Rusty Cooley and another one who i don't remember right now, but who isn't Yngwie.

  • what a stupid conversation.

  • ur mom is stupid

  • my mm has a 153 IQ.. hardly stupid. But that original comeback just screams genius;)

  • ur mom sreamed genius in bed last night hahahahahah

  • ur comments are pure retarded,,, go crawl back under your rock!

  • your pure retarded

  • Buckethead probably went that fast

  • i honesty think this is one of the greatist solos

  • comfortably numb lol

  • lol Yngwie and MAB way faster does no mean paul sux. every one for different shit. i personnaly can't stand buckethead his music is not metal enough

  • Fake f hole rules,so do PG!

    PG is scarified!!!

  • humm a few bars.....

  • paul gilbert is sooo awesome. kicked azz on the G3 tour

  • amazazing Paul is the coolest ever

  • you mean paul gilbert taught "Brian Carrol"

  • on the double guitar part what guitar is he using?

  • It ain't about the guitar, its all about the guitarist...:p Paul is the best guitarplayer ever

  • LOL...what about Handrix and Slash???

  • shut up

  • its spelled hendrix

  • one of the he,s metal to the bone and not someone who shreds like arss like buckethead can do at times.

  • good song, a little goth tragedy tone over it

  • is anyone else thinking comfortably numb?

  • I want the guitar with tassels!!

  • Paul gilbert Rules, great feeling...

  • at the double guitar bit is he not playing the same licks on both but one guitar has a longer neck

  • Why the thumbs down he speaks the truth!

  • My God!!!

    Paul is the Big One!!!

  • GREAT PAUL!!!

  • its d hair!.. its d hair that does d job!!!.. its always got to be the hair!!!

  • It just is'nt fair.

  • best guitarist in the world!

  • esse cara nao eh um E.T lol

  • I love the look on gilberts face , like he can play this with both arms tied behind his back in his sleep if he wanted to...

  • gilberts a beast definitely one of my favorite guitarists and he seems like a really nice guy

  • Nice video. You shoulda added more detail to the name and desc. though.

  • this is the best paul gilbert video i've ever seen....wow

  • Does anyone know the name of the song played here? Or is it just a song he played for the instructional video?

  • Thats from "Technical dificulties" Racer x

  • Actually this version is called Metal Dog and came out first. He re-worked it into Technical Difficulties for the Racer X album.

  • I do now the last part with the green background is pink floyds comfortably numb.. The first two im sure are just songs he wrote for the video

  • hahah well spotted id have never guess that was comfortably numb lol

  • tassles on the guitar during the solo are a little much mr. gilbert.

  • way too much

  • they ae both the same guy in the beging I hope you relize

  • Paul Gilbert is amazing. I don't understand why he is not as famous in U.S. as he is in Japan.

  • because the japanise are more about actual musicmanship than whats "in" at the time

  • not necessarily true, there is plenty of crap music on mtv in any country and japan isn't an exception being a corporate capitalist country to even higher extent than the US itself. i think what you say is probably just an illusion.

  • however, maybe its hard to explain why, bands with virtuoso's definitely excel in Europe and Asia. being a huge dream theater fan, i noticed when i travelled that their popularity in my home town toronto, is far less than that in japan. For the first time ever, i noticed dream theater shirts, pins, posters. Very hard things to find in north america.

  • maybe you are right. i've never been to japan, so i don't know.

  • Simply amazing, like all of Paul Gilbert's work. why did people ever start thinking that paul and buckethead were the same person? Gilbert is too great to be compared with buckethead.

  • The rumor got started because Buckethead's most referenced influence IS Paul Gilbert. But what most people know is that Paul Gilbert actually gave Buckethead personal lessons, which is why they both sound so similar. You can check out Buckethead's only known photo if you search online, and his real name is Brian Carroll.

  • plus they both have big ass hands, long dark hair, and are the same height

  • they are both fucking amazing

  • Paul Gilbert apparently taught Buckethead. An Buckethead is easily on par with Gilberts guitar skill.

  • ahem dont think so the only thing good about fuckedhead is his tapping skills above gilbert.

  • Are you retarded? Buckethead plays just as fast, he is actually more versatile in the music he plays, it actually has emotion to it, not just shredding. Overall I think buckethead is a more complete guitarist.

  • are you gilbert sounds better man i heard buckethead rif,man how crap, hes not as a good riffer as paul, sure hes good, has some good songs but he also has the false hype like hes the best guitarist in the world couse of a few emo songs shule actual a satriani vai just is better then 4 fingere tapping.BTW give people a taste not evrybody likes the same.

  • uh dude i like buckethead but this is the guy that taught him and bucket head has no harmoney in his songs if u play any of buckethaeds son slow they sound like shit try it for ur self if u dont belive me

  • Well. they are not meant to be slowed down. Plus, Buckethead has some pretty fucking nice melodic songs, the best probably being Big Sur Moon. He also does that sick tapping, and I don't care if it's melodic or not...it's fucking AMAZING. However, as far as song writing goes, I think Paul has the advantage over Buckethead. Both are some of the best guitar players, though.

  • ok everyone needs to chill out, yes PG taught buket head so he has some advantage over buckethead, but they are both fantastic guitar players who both have incredible individuality, accept it for what it is and leave it alone

  • well said

  • omg, ur username says it all,, ur a sum41 fan, they suck ass, so u clearly dont know what u are talking about,,, and also who the fuck listens to their music slower than the track is supposed to be played?? also paul gilbert did teach buckethead, but he didnt teach him everything that he knows! they are both great players... as for bucket not being melodic, u clearly havent listened to all his stuff... have u ever seen paul do the 4 finger nub technique that bucket does, no i didnt think so!!

  • rofl does buckthead pic all of his notes instead of sweeping?

  • ummm, what does picking and sweeping have to do with the price of cheese in sweden?>!?!?

bucket is proficient at both alternate picking and sweep picking,, paul gilbert actually admits it himself on many of his tutorial videos that hes not a sweeper,, he can sweep but not as good as some of the other players out there,, i love gilbert, and buckethead,, but just do a search for the buckethead lesson on here and watch his 8 finger tapping, its phenomenal!

  • one thing paul has, is his string skipping, its monstrous

  • yeah thats true, gilberts string skipping is truely amazing!!

  • u guys do realize they are both ridiculous guitarists. 8 finger tapping buckethead, string skipping gilbert, both crazy fast gilbert is fast but buckethead has a mysterious sound to it all

  • lol., u dont say, i love both buckethead and paul gilbert,,, they are both fantastic players!!!

  • you do know that gilbert taught buckethead right?

  • yep

  • I agree only faggots listen to sum41

  • harmony before the solo reminds me of contra lol

  • Oh man that`s perfect. It does sound a lot like contra!

  • dude is sooo kick ass.

  • paul gilberts fingers are like the length of my arm

  • yawn

  • awesome guitar man

  • all pauls fingers are the same length. its wierd.

  • it is quite weird, billy sheehans are as well

  • Anyone else notice him dressed as Stevie Ray Vaughan right before the song started?

  • yea thats weird but kool lol

  • yeah paul was buckets teacher!! so thats why there soo familiar

  • you guys are retarded, paul gilbert is like 20x better then buckethead..how could they posibly be the same person?

  • Yeah why not..xD

  • I said I thought he could be.Right hands look the same.Slow and deliberate. We'll have to see them on stage at the same time. That bucket gives him two more inches.

  • buckheads name is brain carrol

  • Mr. Owl what is Buckethead's true identity?

  • paul gave bucket head lessons early on

  • dam u guys cant stop commenting haha im suprise this thig has been there for a while

  • He is often in fashion crisis....

  • Someone pointed out that he, Paul Gilbert , is not Buckethead? is this true? I and a few of my buddies have accepted that he was. If he is not the who is bucket head? Did he finaly build his robot to defeat him? so he could rest in peaces as a guitar hero?

  • Buckethead is like 6'6 how could you ever think he was paul gilbert? lawlz anyways buckethead is brian carroll a guitarist from here in cali I have a lil add of him putting himself out for bands and what not when he got here from some southern state

  • Paul Gilbert is 6'4".

  • Thought he was 6'2 anyways fingers aren't as long and they've had dif tour dates can't be two places at once.

  • I know, Buckethead has much bigger fingers. I'm actually a Buckethead fanatic.(I probably know more then you :) ) I know Gilbert and Big-B are not the same person.

  • Haha Ive compared hands with Paul Gilbert in person and his hands are pretty big. Buckethead's must be huge!

  • hes not a human

  • the backing for the solo is almost identical to the one for Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. Gilberto rules anyway :P

  • then learn how to say it in english, cocksucker

  • where have all the good people gone....

  • u mean, u can see paul's influnece on buckethead not vice versa

  • he's well good, but I prefer him now, with more of a mature look on music, and short hair, he just looks like your average fella.

  • damn, dudes the bomb!never really heard anything outsida Mr.Big when I seen em open for Rush a couple of times

  • fring guitar lol thats some dirty style... so you gotta back it up with some sick skillz and he does

  • do they add in the applause cuts coz like, no1 ever does lol??

  • Ill!!

    technical difficulties

  • Ok no, the part at 3:14 gives me orgasms.

  • The part at 3:14 rocks my socks.

  • Why to show how fast you are?? there's no point in that!

  • damn i love that clip where it shows him playing that racerx song perfectly :-P

  • nice

  • DOES ANYONE HAVE DA TAB! THATS AWSOME

  • Aww half the tassels fell off his tassely Ibanez thing. That sucks.

  • no they didnt. that is one kick ass guitar tho. like hendrixs woodstock clothes

  • Er yeah they did, watch Intense Rock 2, there's way more.

  • oh. i thought you meant during that video

  • i was gonna say what the hell were those people on about, u read my mind zakklt

  • you fuckers... it's called technical difficulties!!!

  • when he first came up wit it he called it metaldog, technical difficulties was recorded like 5 years later

  • what the fuck man...really fucking solo fucking fuck fuck nice tempo nice tune nnice fucking nice LOL

  • half of thats rusty cooley you tard.

  • my guitar teacher has jammed with Paul Gilbert

  • what song is is playing for that "terrifying guitar trip?" I wanna learn it. assuming my fingers are physically capable of moving at a million notes per second.

  • i dont like shredders like steve vai and the such but i love paul gilbert most likely since he makes great riffs as well as shreds really well hes good at creating hooks fantastic guy
