  • peace to Guru da god....forever droppin jewels.

  • classic!!

  • R.I.P. Guru

  • graffmusic .

    this shit flows.

  • rip to the guru

  • rip guru

  • @nzkiwipride I feel ya to the fullest. I actually feel bad and sad that Guru is gone now. Guru is definately a legend without a doubt, his name says it all. I first heard about him in 2002 when "Now Your Mine" was mixed by Mix Master Mike. It's funny how people think Jay-Z is real Hip-Hop.

  • Guru rest in peace.

It's a shame that we always lose the realest emcees when there are so few compared to the multitude of fakes nowadays. I will definitely miss you, and all that you stood for in hip hop.

    Respect.

  • @nzkiwipride

    damnit

so much so called rappers who deserve to die, and destiny has chosen Guru to die???

    wth man...

  • @strikeout1991 Guru's death when other rappers were more worthy candidates is just more evidence that supports my atheism :/

  • @eboyd32

True dat, it's the same with me.

  • R.I.P. Guru !! :(:|

  • Keith Edward Elam aka Guru R.I.P.

Thx for keeping our ears laced with true talent you stayed raw and keep shit real till your last breath. Now you're among the others that were taking too soon from hip hop, Pac, Biggie, Big L, etc. So when I think about the company you have I smile cause the business now a days was a lonely lonely place for someone with your flow and skillz.

We miss you already mad love and crazy respect yo

    peace

  • Rest In Peace Guru....You will be missed.

  • aint no comin back from this bro. Rip Guru. peace.

  • This shit sounds official

  • I love this beat. Great opening track.

  • Hip-Hop is not dead, they just ain't listening to it

  • true!!!

  • any news on guru?

  • classic like the ? remains

  • niggas talk more shit than enough

  • THIS FUKIN TRACK GOS HARD

  • I could so see a beat like this in a movie ! just like a creeper scene ;) But ille lyrics !

  • "...with this mic in my hand,i'm rulin'."

  • REAL TAL RIGHT HERE! fuck these new artist just toys

  • G A N G to the Starr son

  • awesome track, but to the host of this song:

"misogyny, violence, materialism, and ignorance" are awesome too haha

  • idk about awesome and that is what this track is speaking out against so idk wtf you are talking about, but i can say i can tolerate some of it depending on the perspective it is being told from and if it isn't overly used, especially for the purpose of increased record sales (*cough* 50 Cent), but seriously, that is the whole point of this song so wtf??!?!

  • i think he thought you be like like, oh wow ur such a nice guy! but yeah, gangstarr are keeping this shit realer than most rappers, i live in hope that they will release another album lol

  • If only... :)

  • motboy, i feel u I been following gangstarr since 94 when i was a senior in jr high i'm 33 now and still bumpin starr, they gone drop another jewel when we least expect it

  • @chriswilliams31 for real man!! lets fucking hope so! i went to the ownerz concert back in 03 and that already feels like far too long ago!

  • and even if guru comes back minus primo he could still rock da mike, his freestyles make more sense than the shit these studio kittens are puttin out

"The position that anyone holds can be up for grabs, i'm waitin up da ave to see if anyone folds"

Lil wayne and these other industry vermin will eventually lose popularity, it's only a matter of time playa!

  • Guru has released stuff recently without Premo. he was using autotune in his latest track :(

  • I just listened to his newest and i can't believe it's him, eboyd

the beats are a little weak IMO, damn i listen to mass appeal and this new stuff and i'm like"yo what happened?

i hope he and premo get back on the same page, i hear the music but IMO it aint the same

    autotune is wack, period!

  • @eboyd32

    rest in peace guru

  • @chriswilliams31 Word!

  • @eboyd32 nowadays jiggaman is worse, in my eyes at least, bc he used to be legit but will do wtv for money nowadays. him and his whole crew, spineless. kanye produced death of autotune but didnt seem to mind that jay clearly dissed him on the track "yall rappers need to get back to rap, you t-pain'n too much" even tho the two rappers that use autotune most are kanye and lil wayne, his protege.

  • No ID, the guy who produced the entire "Resurrection" album for Common, produced "DOA", not Kanye. i agree that Jigga has been bullshitting lately though. tbh i only really like scattered tracks here and there by Jay and his early work (pre-Reasonable Doubt).

  • Gang Starr and Queen Latifah

  • this beat fucking knocks!!

  • "Ain't no way, so come, make my day

Like Tom Hanks I earn long bank and Cast you Away"

    great! 5/5

  • Premo #1

  • sample?

  • has a good flow

  • cool yeah!!

  • ♫ Believe me it ain't easy like you sleazy niggaz think. Uneasy niggaz blink, when I step to the stage. ♫

One of the better GangStarr-tracks around!

  • yeah the video owner guy, im 13 and don't mess with the radio nowadays. I have to go 5-10 years back in order to get inspiration that's pretty sad. and i have this gang starr album. GREAT MATERIAL.

  • Real talk from Gang Starr

  • Guru rocks

  • sick beat

  • hot beat

  • I know Nas and common been making music a long time they still putting out stuff

  • I agree with that his style is different i say Gangstar style is better

  • sick beat and lyrics on mic!

  • GangStar+EpMd=Real HipHoP!

  • ownage! whole album is fuckin one of the best ive ever heard.

    hip hop dont stop <3

  • I get so tired of girls saying LiL wayne and Young Berg is real they not im a Chick who Loves Real Hip Hop like gangstar and KRS-One and the new who are bringing back the real Hip Hop Like Lupe fiasco and common and Nas

  • dont ever mention lupe fiasco in the same sentence as all those other people ever again, unless its in the form "lupe fiasco aint shit compared to..."

  • chill Lupe has decent songs, some of his songs may seem mainstream but if you actually listen to them they have a much more darker meaning.

  • common an nass are not new my lady, they been holdin shit down since 92'

  • nas*

  • yea well at least nas's untitled was good, unlike commons UMC, dam common...still a great hip hop artist tho!

  • This is fucking nuts

  • i love it for it's lyrics...~_~

  • gangstarr is da shit I love this whole cd

  • which cd is it?

  • the cd is called THE OWNERZ

  • less rap bout killin n more bout the truth represent ...

    my block represented !

  • I agree with my man YoungN500! Someday these teenagers will understand what real hip hop is, not Soulja Boy, 50, lil wayne, other Southern stupid shit.

  • yea i been listen to it all my life so to me itz the only real thing to me ../hip-hop has changed ALOT ...i juz dono y ppl don look at the ppl n the past tht made hip hop tht make what hip hop is ...today iz all money n dance but i don blame them for tht itz juz when u make up the dumbest shit itz juz wack ...

    (part1)

  • i deffently hate solja boi he juz makes up shit outa nowhere n 50 juz a bitch all he rap bout iz money but he got some ok beats ... i mean d-block jadakiss jhood jay z n papoose i can listen to them cuzz thy been around for a long min too n thy no whtz up n thy got some good shit but for the rest iz w/e

    (part2)

  • 50 cent is not even a real east coast rapper. He dont even know shit about Public Enemy.

  • there are some dope southerners too bro. it's not the south that is to blame. both members of Outkast, The Geto Boys, Arrested Development, Jay Electronica, Little Brother, Nappy Roots, Devin The Dude, K-Rino, Z-Ro, Dead Prez, etc., are all from the South and are all dope as fuck.

  • That was different, Where they all at, The South Needs them, Only todays south rappers are just ridiculous dawg. The ones you listed are my only favorite South rappers.

Old School South rappers rules!! too!

  • Jay Electronica is brand new and Outkast are on top of the game. Little Brother and Scarface just put out new albums. Devin consistently releases shit. AD just put out a new album. K-Rino and Z-Ro are pretty consistent. i almost forgot UGK. RIP Pimp C. their last album was sick. there is just as much BS coming from NY and LA. the only city with very little BS is Chi-town. even Kanye has dope beats. the only BS dude out there is Young Berg (who?)

  • yo i been listen to gang starr for a long time n im only 16 ...

n i relized tht the new rap out ant shit ...

i love my hip hop cuzz thy no how itz done and wht it iz ...

all da fake bullshit out today ant shit itz all bout da money n bitchz naw itz bout tht rhyme n beat rappin the TRUTH n when ever i listen to ANY song of gang starr i feel all dat ... word up ...

  • That my man right here, You only 16 but into Old School hip hop when it is Real. Surprise you dont care for Soulja Boy.

  • this mic in my hand Im rullin <---- Queen Latifah

  • good ear!

  • Gang Starr Kills.

No need to flash cars or expenzive stuff when you got that type of skills.

  • nice1 but

make em pay >>>>>>>> put up or shut up.

krumb kills it on make em pay.

  • i agree. i put this up a while ago and i realized that after i listened a few more times. oh well, what's done is done i guess.

  • not one of the best premo beats ive heard but pretty sick song. Guru has done better.

  • it's just the though behind the song.

  • naw guru is philisophical this is one of my favorite songs simple beat but its serious premo is the greatest producer of alltime

  • I think Guru is one the best rappers I have ever heard in terms of rhyme, style and messages. That's real rap, the man is master of language. He doesen't talk about stupid shit like jewellery and slapping bitches, that is lame. Guru is the boss.

  • he's kind of different. he has his own style that hip hop needs. he's the only person that ever would have sounded right on his Jazzmatazz projects. no other emcee could fuse Jazz and hip hop like him.

  • I couldn't agree with you more.

  • slapping bitches is good. but agreed guru rules.

  • sweeeeet!!

  • Peace fam.Big up eboyd u put a lot work in these videos homie..I see how some cats just be half steppin' with it..one/easy

  • dude, all your video's are great. Thanks for putting together a collection of some really good hip hop.

  • no problem. thanks for all the break dance videos. you know, if you break dance yourself, we've got this group where we collab on videos and we have emcees, djs, producers, but no bboys yet. tell me if you're interested.

  • I don't understand why Snoop Dogg makes an appearance on this album though.

  • yeah, neither do i. oh well. he spit fire back in the day but he sold out bad. i also don't know why Fat Joe makes an appearance.

  • Fat Joe was in a group called D.I.T.C. (Diggin' In The Crates) was a pretty hardcore group, consisting of Lord Finesse, AZ, Showbizz, Big L and Fat Joe. Eastcoast stuff though. But besides that, Snoop's verse on the album is actually what Gang Starr is denegrating in other tracks on the album so it's weird.

  • i know about Fat Joe and all of that. he's just sold out now. also, Fat Joe put down a verse that Gang Starr is usually against too. the whole track was about how many guns he has. it was a fucking terrible contradiction.

  • That first line of Fat Joe is actually from someone else, If I'm right it's from Kool G Rap but I'm not sure.

  • it's not just the first line, it's the entire verse. i'll have to listen again though to confirm this.

  • Did somebody say this was shitly produced? Oh no he didn't. Saying Primo made a bad beat is like saying you would take dirt over money. Sounds like somebody has got a lot of hip hop history to catch up on. lol!

  • what the fuck is mofofosho88 talkin about! is he for real! sounds like a bitch! thats what i call ppl who act like they know hip hop but dont know shit! a premo beat with the gifted one flowin! tight as always!

  • I don't think i've ever heard Guru repeat lines in songs like most rappers do...

    Amazing Emcee.... No doubt

  • you're an idiot. you just dissed the GREATEST PRODUCER OF ALL TIME and one of the greatest emcees! go home with your Lil Wayne bullshit and learn how to spell you ignorant fag.

  • too many idiots these days, talkin shit like they know it all, they should stick to their modern bubble gum hip pop shit. Guru is the boss!

  • Gangstarr is amazing

Guru shuld do tracks wit NaS

  • hell yeah. he has one on his new album, Jazzmatazz 4, that came out this year, with Common. they fit together well with their laid back styles.

  • agreed, two of my favourites!

  • why?

  • Don't try to change your friends opinions on music. Let them listen to the wack shit. They'll do whatever it takes to make money and fit in so they'll go where the flavor of the week trends go. Atleast ya'll had some balls to step away and become an individual and appreciate real hip hop like Gangstarr because real recognize real.

  • man im 15 and all my friends think that the music I LISTEN TO IS gay I love the classics. I cant stand that fake stuff they be puttin out but hey people nowandays can put out anything and become a superstar, shit got no substance

  • Love that tune...Krumb made nice feat, remember when I bought this cd, it's still here, along with PLAYTAWIN, Peace of Mine and Capture, just repeatin'em on and on.

  • i'm 17. and would rather listen to shit like "krs-one, and shit like gangstarr as well, mos def, talib kweli. my freinds think i'm weird because they like shit that comes out today. they don't really listen to the lyrics. that's the problem nowadays... the producers should get credit, not rappers

  • seriously bro. i really think that i could say something completely homosexual in a song and it would go unnoticed today. nowadays a song with the line "gay anal sex" could become a hit because no one pays attention to the lyrics. it's funny but it's completely serious.

  • a bay bay is gay gay gay. I'm 19 years old and i know the difference between real and fake hip hop. Real hip hop consists of creativity and motivation. Fake hip hop consists of commercialized, copycat, wannabe-gangsta material.

  • in a nut shell, yeah, you're absolutely right. by the way, i'm 19 too.

  • This is for REAL !! REMEMBER THAT!! This is that REAL HIP HOP. Its where it all started. Fuck the bling bling shit, u in ur 20dollar crib listen to 50 laughing all the way to the bank? OH man..Get some knowledge people. Gangstarr wraps it up again. -OnE-

  • there's another track off this album that i need to post a video for that comes at fake hip hop much harder. i might post it soon.

  • hey, in case you want to get better attention with your ad i can tell you how to make the words in bold. and i have no problem with you posting some as responses to my videos.

  • Is this the real video for this? Really good if sumbody jus made it!!

  • i made it. thanks. i dont think this song has a video.

  • this is nice...there's no balance in rap now. it's all bling or talking about drugs :( thanks to the people that control the music industry that will remain nameless

  • Amen. Bling is Dead!

  • yeah, i havent heard that word in years. problem is now we have ice and grills. and what the fuck does "A Bay Bay" mean and why is it gaining popularity?

  • I love it :) nice vid man! 5 stars.

  • yeeaaa!! Thats the shit right here! Anyone know when the new jazzmatazz is gonna drop?

  • I'll check that shit out for sure, I'll buy it if it's good. I've actually never bought any Guru solo stuff, but I've heard some of it, and I think he's still good without DJ Premiere.

  • in that case you'll probably like it.

  • This was the first Gang Starr CD I bought when I was 13. I always downloaded his old school songs, but this CD made me want to buy the rest of his old CD's. Guru is the best rapper still around, I want him to come out with another album.

  • Jazzmatazz Vol. 4 just came out (no premo so its not as good but still dope). go to his myspace. it is simply /guru.

  • "you talk about the chicks and the whips you got. you think you hot... put up or shut up." these new rappers need to hear this line.

  • put up or shut up.....i'm ruling. nice slide e. say what's every1 fav gangstarr album. mine are "jazzmatazz", "full clip: a decade of gangstarr", "moment of truth", and even though guru didn't do "bald head slick" with premo it was still good especially the tracks with stoupe from jedi mind tricks. say also any1 got the bald head slick album. mine melted n my car and it's been discontinued.

  • that sucks. well, i think there are too many good gangstarr cd's. the compilations are obviously the best but cost like $70 depending on where you go. as just a regular album, quality wise they are all pretty equal. not all are as famous but anything with a premier beat is great. my personal favorite gangstarr song is mass appeal so id have to say hard to earn but i dont like DWYCK much so its hard to say.

  • i just noticed something that really pisses me off. youtube attached a MIKE JONES AND SNOOP DOGG video and a TI AND UGK video to the credits of this video. how dare they!!!

  • didnt know your a T.I. fan ..tisk tisk hahahahahahaha lol

  • very funny. no i am not buddy. he does at least show repect to those who came before him though.

  • funky -eboyd

  • we need some more people to view this shit.

  • thanks. its funny, it only took me like 10 minutes to make. you like the message im getting across?

  • I can dig it!!! Keep it up bruh

  • nice vid!
