I have been a vegetarian for 3 months after watching Earthlings. That shocked me. It made me see how meat ends up in my plate and that i don't want any creature to be killed for my sake. But the thing i never thought about is pets. By caring,loving and providing their food don't we make them happy? I never thought of it as taking away their freedom....
@Prog47 The issue with pets is complex. In a vegan world I don't think humans would own other animals at all. But I agree: often it seems good to take in nonhumans who'd otherwise be on the street or killed at a shelter. I'm personally not sure what the solution is, but I wanted to note the problematic confinement common with pets. Some vegans praise animal sanctuaries as a short-term solution. I live with a cat, and I've just tried to focus on being more sensitive to allowing her more freedom.
i think that we can "use" animals to survive !! but not to savage them !! they hurt and they feel the pain as we do !! its pitty for some people to be so cruel !!! they will use the same cruelty an in their real lifes !!!

A new era has to come where we teach better conscience to us and our children (WITHOUT religion which hinders rediscovering the true nature of our spirit), accepting our ephemeral life with respect for others' life. We --mostly white people in all modern and overconsuming countries representing 20% of the planet yet overconsuming 80% of soil resources-- live with highest technological level with a middle-age level of conscience. Our societies with poor level of conscience is the problem.
Agree, man has reached the utmost in being disgusting. But all is related. We overproduce and overconsume all kind of stupid (akos) stuffs in akos sectors doing akos activities, irrespective of anything else's life, including plants'. IMHO, question is how to rediscover how to live on earth respective of our true nature --including being omnivore--, thus learning to respect things on earth but without recourse to excessive measures unnatural too us, for instance stop eating meat.
Dears. Would you please send me the English subtitles in a text format? I would translate them into Czech and spread the video here. We do regular screenings on the streets every week.
