I am sharing an association formed by young safety engineers from Indian for free knowledge sharing in order to improve working condition in Indian. It is named as " Indian Safety Professionals" search it at google and found it under isplonline
Hoping it will be use full to all safety professionals around the world.
The problem I see is many employers will let things go until there's an accident and then claim "We never knew that!" and thus, it takes the death of a worker to still make safe work enviornments.
@Dethreid if there weren't regulations established and enforced by the government, there would be no difference is safety standards between us an the othe countries you just mentioned. where is my proof? before osha was created, we were just the same. did you watch the video? 14,000 people were killed at work in one year.
Again, there are many products made here in the US that you can buy knowing that the workers are protected by a minimum wage and worker protections.
People don't buy those products, Wal-mart doesn't buy those products, this idea that you are willing to spend more money to protect the people who make those products is a falsehood and hypocritical.
Think about that next time you go to buy a pair of pants or shoes, you can get them in the US, and its the right thing to do.
OSHA only reason to exist is to make my job impossible to do.I'm a lineman.I used to love my job. It's shit now.I'm payed not to get hurt. Not for doing a good job anymore.Safety is important but OSHA is out of control!!!
Osha is a joke in a way....They sometimes call ahead of time so you can prepare for an inspection...Sometimes they show up without notification..Either way, when they leave it is back to situation normal...Make short cuts but do not get caught.....Has anyone ever wondered where all of the money goes when they fine the crap out of someone.....
we talked about this in my human resource management class today and apparently they usually do not collect it, they have millions upon millions uncollected
@morewineplease1 A month ago, two kids were working in a grain elevator nearby...They were both around 20 years old...They were dumping grain into an auger, the board they were standing broke, one kid fell in, the other tried to pull him out and lost his balance and fell in..They are alive, one kid lost everything at the belly button down, the other lost one leg at the hip, not sure but they might of taken the other leg off also....OSHA ???? Still waiting on findings...
@morewineplease1 The company, from what I have heard so far, did not have a metal grade over the auger, just boards and the safety cut of switch was not working....I guess they did not have workmans comp or not enough workmans comp....OSHA has been on top of this, but right now not sure of what is going on, just lots of 3rd party hear say..It is real sad, 20 years old and your life is screwed..One thing losing a leg or legs, but losing everything below the belly button....

OSHA created by Lyndon Johnson, and promoted by Democrats and unions while republicans opposed it. Nixon was eventually embarrassed into signing the Democrat bill into law. A person who works for wages voting republican is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders.

Pretty sure money was more on their mind than actual safety.

Another great idea, signed into law by a Republican.

That's exactly why I don't give a dame for your wars and soldiers. Hey...the soldiers signed up for it. No worker ever did.
