yes the gaa was founded in 1884, but cork people were hurling before the gaa even started. Blackrock hurling club for instance was founded in 1883!

The first offical record of Hurling being played is in ballybricken in waterford, 21 on each team thats why many of us waterford supporters claim waterford to be the home. On the contrary, even as a waterford man, tipp is the home of hurling.
