Whether is be a snowmobile, atv or even a dirtbike,... type "water cross" or water crossing" in youtube search,.. tons of water crossing clips, however this clip is the baddest, because it is April, Georgian Bay Ontario,.. water is cold as fuk, this takes balls, hence April Fools.

@caffeintweeker Not true at all. I've seen guys "start" with their front ski's nearly touching the waters edge. You don't need to be flying to run water. Hell, most guys only ever see about 50-60mph when on it. It's all about the right combination of horsepower, balance and traction. Almost any sled will do water...and do it well under the right conditions.

One of the riders in the video is a good friend of one the the band members, Jamie and they allowed us to use there tracks for the DVD. Jamie also designed the cover art for the DVD. stock means 3/4". at least thats what is most common. although with newer sleds 1" seems to be stock. BUT giving the year of those baby's i'd say 3/4"

water cross racers use the old cleated tracks. You also don't want to use deep of lugs. They "remove" too much water and sinks the read end. A stock 3/4" track will go much faster and further than a deep lug track.

Depends on the size of paddles on your sled, a summit with 2inch lugs can go 20mph and stay a float, my 800mxz with 1.25 is...well i wouldnt go less than 40 but i've started from a dead stop on the edge of the ice...

We had some guys run a little water up here in Sudbury last year and the cops got their cab numbers and ended up charging them with careless or something.

Actually, we did have a cop visit us when we landed a the helicopter on a beach basically in the middle of town. He said he came over because he saw a truck half on the beach and half on the ice (unloading the sleds) ...then he saw a helicopter land. When we described what we were doing he thought it was pretty cool and just left us alone.
