  • I love this :)

  • I love seeing this part this way i love when people take risks and it works and it worked great job to the actor and production team.

  • Yeah, our Evelyn was quite naive and the "steryotypical" englishman..thats what makes this scene so hilarious. You would never expect it of his character. Pretty much what the whole show is--nothing is predictable! haha!

  • You're Reno is great, I wish i could hear her sing live.

  • I find the discussion of how Evelyn "should" be interesting. Clearly in this production the director -- I was the choreographer --chose to cast Evelyn exactly counter to the accepted type -- so in this production rather than smooth and suave, he's naive, bumbling and loveable. I found the choice interesting and it certainly made his dance with Reno fun and even refreshing for its humor and charm.

  • @bobethomas When the group I'm in did this production Evelyn was cast in a similar manner. He was sophisticated, stereotypically English, but quite naive.

  • @bobethomas Im actually currently in rehearsal for Anything Goes playing Evelyn and from the moment I saw the script, the goofier lovable Evelyn made a whole lot more sense than the smooth suave one. To me, Evelyn is completely delusional about what happens around him, and that makes him charming.

  • i read the convo going on below and I thought sir Evelyn was supposed to be hunkish. This is the first Anything Goes I've seen where Evelyn isn't hunkish

  • but yeah my sisters in this show haha

  • haha she has a good voice... a really good voice xD haha what the heck he walks funny xD

  • reno is very good, but the evelyn in this was totally miscast...ev is supposed to be a sexy british heartthrob...and this guy is not any of the above 3.

  • so not true, the whole irony is that sir evelyn is super un-hunkish guy while reno is...well...reno :P thats what makes it funny that she's after him!

  • thats completely inaccurate. Sir Evelyn Oakley is supposed to be an attractive, yet stuffy and hapless British nobleman.

  • really? hm, weird, i guess our directors just decided to interpret it differently...whatevs :) i like it both ways though, they're kinda just atwo different kinds of funny.

  • Haha yeah I'm playing Evelyn in my school play too. I don't really look british though lol

  • haha I luv this
